Sky hummed as she digs through the piles of scrap. She’d found a nice haul so far- Night would be able to make lots of cool stuff, she was sure! Lots of parts in good condition, a few with small amounts of rust, and even some neat little trinkets she could probably make that wind chime Miss Bernel had asked her for a few weeks ago!
“Perfect!” She beams at the little sprocket she’d pulled out. “Alright that ought t’be-”
Her ears perk up and her eyes widen, turning towards the sound with a pit in her stomach suddenly forming.
“Oh no.” She whispers. She drops the basket with her findings and races back towards town in a flash of blue.
She comes to a stop over the crest of the hill and covers her mouth in horror, tears springing up. Every building in town is on fire and there’s a giant Air ship above it all, robots pouring out of it and attacking the townsfolk.
“No.... NO!” She shouts and bolts down into the screaming crowd, rushing to escape.
She pushes past, struggling to get through the crowd.
She bursts through the crowd and spots several bots surrounding her home, one holding Night by her foot and the rest struggling to capture the boys.
“LET GO OF ME, YOU OVER SIZED TOASTER!” Night screeches, swinging her arms about.
Sky grits her teeth, every muscle in her body tensing. What could she do? She had to do something!
“SKY!” Smash shouts and she bolts for them without another thought, throwing her body into the bot holding Night, knocking it over and causing it to drop her sister.
Night yelps and quickly gets up. “Sky, whadda we do?!”
“I-I don’t know!” Sky jumps into the fray, attempting to kick and body slam the bots off the boys. “Think of something!”
Night fumbles on her person for a moment before pulling out a sparkling green gem. “O-oh! SKY! SKY, TRY THIS!” She throws the gem.
One of the bots turns, eyes locking onto the glowing emerald. “Chaos Emerald detected!” It rattles and starts to reach for it.
Sky kicks off one bot and reaches out to catch the gem.
Time seems to slow as different hands reach for the gem.
Sky snatches the gem from the air and shouts. “BACK OFF!” An explosion of energy and light engulfs the area and all five mobians scream in panic.
