Pearl Jam - 'Yellow Ledbetter' (misheard lyrics video)
I'll just preface this by saying, I am a massive Pearl Jam fan and I adore Eddie Vedder's voice. However, it can't be denied he does have a little habit of mumbling lyrics. The misheard lyrics video above makes me chuckle like an absolute loon and I defy you to watch it and work out what on earth he's actually singing. It makes me very happy that this is what the Wikipedia page for the song says:
"The lyrics of 'Yellow Ledbetter' have proven indecipherable when heard live and even on the recorded version, as Vedder mumbles through much of the song with only certain parts being heard prominently, such as the famous line at the end of each verse "I said, I don’t know whether I was the boxer or the bag," with these parts of the song heard on almost every live rendition of the song. There are many unofficial lyrics on various websites."
'Yellow Ledbetter' was an outtake from the band's first album, Ten, and first appeared as a B-Side to 'Jeremy' in 1992. It's a bit of a live favourite, often being played as the last song of the set. The guitar riff is awesome, and owes a lot to Hendrix ('Little Wing' anyone?) and I just love how the band all let Mike McCready have his moment playing it out at the end.
