Ghosts, Science, and Condemned Buildings. | Ike & Firkle 7.5.22
It was pathetically easy to sneak out. All he had to do was do the exact opposite of what Kyle did most of the time. His ploy had started early in the day, a headache. He made little comments, tongued the pills his mother insisted he take, and was eventually sent to bed very early, sleep was the best cure for a headache after all. He was confident he wouldn't be disturbed, but as extra insurance, Ike made a pillow and blanket dummy, and put the black curly wig on the mannequin head.
With the dummy taken care of, he opened his window smoothly, and without fear, jumped from the sill to the branch and climbed down. It really wasn't difficult, after all, he had done it so many times. And he had calculated the exact angle and trajectory he needed to jump anyways. From there, all Ike had to do was walk to the abandoned asylum. His backpack thumped against his back. Ike had packed gloves, goggles, tweezers, and microscope slides. This abandoned building was an old asylum. Rumored to be haunted with demons or ghosts or whatever. Ike had laughed at those rumors, the only supernatural things that existed was dead celebrities. He hadn't seen one in ages.
After some walking, Ike saw the abandoned building and waited outside for his "adventure" partner. Firkle was one of his closest associates, so it made sense that they would come here together. Firkle didn't irritate him like almost everyone from this town, so it made sense why he got the dopamine rush whenever Firkle was around. Yep, that was the reason. He wondered if Firkle would be doing his goth thing with some spiritual device or if he would help Ike with his sample collecting. Whatever he was doing, Ike trusted Firkle enough to not be an idiot. Which was incredibly high praise from him.
