gnaw is (sort of) part of a sect of the esoteric order (a sort of... faction within a faction) that is made up of a few scientists/researchers and several eldritch-y/cosmic horror type aliens & aberrations, including gnaw themself. more an occasional visitor or point of contact than true member of the clan; gnaw comes and goes, but is probably one of the more frequently present of these entities.
he seems very destructive and chaotic to most, especially because he has this funny little habit of eating things and people all the time... really he’s just curious & constantly hungry for anything (and anyone), he doesn’t have malevolent or cruel intentions necessarily but they also do not really care about hurting/upsetting/scaring ppl bc people are kind of insignificant to them anyway... it likes learning about ppl/dragons/etc sometimes and observing them and whatnot but doesnt really consider their emotions or well-being or anything like that..... mostly gnaw just wants to EAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
