;whispers but picture, Sentaro, Kiyone and Rukia being like torn if they should try and finish Sōgyō no Okotowari in the Seireitei Communication, especially cause it’s left on a cliffhanger of a chapter after Ukitake’s passing. They ask around for opinions probably on directions for how to end it.

Maybe in the end they decide to hold a massive fan celebration issue instead with submissions.

;Maybe it has to do with rukia being a warrior, and survivor, but Kaien's words on the heart and leaving it with others(as corny as they are) are something that Rukia finds a great comfort in. I don't think she fully understood them or connected with it until much later, more closer to when she has created some of those connections herself. The idea of being able to leave a part of yourself with others also pairs well with her development through the series.

She used to be a lone wolf, but eventually has these people which she feels very backed by that she can leave it up to. I think particularly what she connects to it is in leaving a mark. Having some kind of legacy or inheritance in connections with others sits well with her and brings her great comfort.

Inuzuri is a place where no one leaves a mark, and souls disappear just as easily as they show up. But eventually, throughout the timeline she builds up these great connections, both strong and small between others where she very much feels like she's been able to leave a mark of herself with others, or leave her heart there so to say.

It connects well in her having a kid, as that's another form of legacy. And it also connects in why she likes looking out for others too, does well in a leadership role, and uses looking out for others often as a way to connect.

Particularly about the idea she takes comfort in is the idea that things would be handled should her own demise come to pass, and that even in death she would leave mark on the people that matter to her, however grim that seems. It's something that brings peace to her soul. It also helps bring peace to her mind when faced with loss of someone, that she can feel like she carries a piece of them forward still, and that they still have their legacy, although that doesn't stop it from being something she strives to prevent at all cost.

Won't do much detail here, but accepting her mortality also connects with her zanpakuto's true nature and living IN that line of life and death. It's how she sits well with dying, and being a fighter on the battlefield, Afterall, her own dying isn't something she's afraid of as we've seen with As Nodt: Her fears are much more related to the people's she's bonded with than to do with her own being.

;Rukia has a couple of ways of relaxing. One is spontaneous "adventures" with friends, which she usually drags them into. Oddly enough I think this grew from her coping mechanism of distractions and her tendency to run away from her problems, but has grown into a good healthy relaxation method. Rukia isn't always a good friend to herself mentally, but she can be better to herself in proximity by convincing herself she's helping her friends. And being among friends lets her be able to get lot more into and actually achieve the distraction she's looking for and genuinely have fun and have real emotions on those kind of outings. Usually these involve taking something she's had a vague interest in learning more about and fulfilling her curiosity about it while finding someone to experience it with that she's comfortable with.

I think I have this somewhere in some other headcanon elsewhere, where she likes to implement 'unique' training exercises with her squad after promotion to lieutenant. Examples could be things like three legged races, field days, tag, and other more spontaneous decided challenges. Bringing those ideas to her squadron is very similar as the above spontaneous adventures, just bringing the adventure home instead and in more of her own spirit, but there exist a similar satisfaction and distraction relaxation part in this form as well.

Somewhat similar, retreats into nature are also very relaxing to her(she is that weirdo that can enjoy camping), whether that's things like stargazing, dashing through the grassfields, daydreaming in trees, or splashing in a river.

But, of course, her probably easiest and longest having form of relaxation is drawing in her sketchbook.

;Rukia is highly ignorant of gossip, and tends to view it pretty negatively. Ever since the academy it's been something that's directed at her due to her background, and used to tear her down. It didn't help that a new larger wave of it occurred again when her class changed from her adoption. She usually feels like people are talking about things they don't understand and it's been something that's made her feel isolated and created distance between herself and others. Ignoring it completely and turning oblivious has become her protective shell towards it after putting up with it for a long time, picked up sometime around the time of her tutelage under Kaien.

She isn't a willing participant in it typically, but there might be a level she's forced into at noble parties and what not. In noble circles, she finds it very boring, usually people talking about people they don't know. In those scenarios she pretends to listen, saving face by reacting very little, and shows a lack of interest. If it's present in places that are more personal, like at her squad where she has a bit more authority and power, she might try to cut it off, usually depending on her annoyance of it has reached its threshold or if she thinks of it as harmful. But she's fully aware that it's impossible to have a no tolerance policy for it and it will always exist.

She's pretty good at shrugging it off when it comes to herself, but gossip against others she might be a bit more protective of or choose to do something about. For the most part, she tries to keep it out of her life. She may tend to be out of the loop for that same reason though.

;I'm not sure if she has super strong opinions on times of day, but if you needed her to pick one, sunset and the time as dusk sets in are probably up there. There are some memories associated with that time of day of coming together, filled with moments by fires and where the atmosphere is filled with coziness and more relaxed. It'd probably easier to say she's not a fan of early early morning and late night due to issues she has had sleeping and the leering possibility of being snuck up at the time in her younger years.

;I wouldn't call Rukia a hugger, but she expresses herself physically easily and often. She'll drape her arms on someone shoulder, put her head close, hitch a ride on people's back, grab someone's chin, touch their shoulder-- there's a lot of ways she expresses herself physically with people, which she is pretty forward with. Hugging isn't one of those, and it just veers too far into too PDA and isn't typical for her to consider.

But she enjoys physical affection a lot, and physical expression is her love language, regardless of if it's platonic or romantic. Things like pats on the head, hand holding, hand on her shoulder, or even picking her up make her feel strongly connected with others and are extremely comforting to her.

;Ooh, I think I have a write up somewhere of what I picture in her office space, but her bedroom is fun too. To be clear, I’m thinking of her room in the Kuchiki manor for this. 

For the most part, her room is very roomy and clean. Although that’s not always of her own choice, because it gets picked up by the house attendants when she’s not there. She has some personal touches she’s managed to sneak in there but far less than her office, despite how she’s lived in her room far longer. In comparison, she has a lot more freedom, fun and history of her own in her office in comparison to her room, which is Kuchiki controlled for the most part.

In one of the corners she has a seated desk low to the ground. One of the very first things she’s done to her room is carve a chappy drawing in the wood of her desk, and it has a particularly harsh outline as she’s kept going over it again and again over the years. She has a small assortment of relevant books lined at the back, some from etiquette lessons, others from researching things, and some from her squad, and paperwork has started to invade the area after she became a lieutenant. Most of the time the paper is in two or three stacks. It’s not obvious by first look but there’s remnants of a wide stroke of a stain of black ink on the wood to the center right that is easier to see in sunlight. 

There’s a large dresser with a mirror and other accessories by her bed. It’s a newer model but the feet of the dresser already has deep impressions on the tatami, showing that it’s been replaced before. Along with fancy kimono and nice clothes, she has a few notes from her brother saved in the drawer and a small chappy plush always resting on top.

She also has a tall bookshelf with mostly family or history books. Usually more for reference than actively used. It’s too tall for her and there are books where she can’t reach that she has never seen in her life.

There’s a big fluffy bed that could easily fit 2 people, maybe 3, with two blankets and two or three pillows. The patterns and cases for them aren’t particularly vibrant or eye catching, but they are nice quality and soft as a fox’s fur.

The other furnish of note is a large painting, probably taller than Rukia, and not of her choosing, hung across from the bed depicting a large mountain. It’s been there since she got there and she’s forgotten to notice it at this point and it's blended into the room's walls for her.

There was a point, near the beginning of her adoption where she used to try to mess her room up on purpose. She’d leave things out, or crowd her dresser and desk or leave the bed unmade, or just leave things on the floor. It was done because before her adoption she was far more used to small, crowded but lively, and cozy living spaces, but the lifestyle change to roomy and luxury was off-putting to her and ended up making her feel lonely and distant from people. Rukia had tried to bring in some of that old lifestyle by leaving messes just so that there wouldn’t be as much open air or maybe thinking it would feel more like it used to, but it failed to do so and ended up cleaned up anyways so she has mostly given up doing it.

I think at this point, she's gotten used to her room at the Kuchiki manor with time, and the manor and room aren't as suffocating to her as they once were after getting closer to her brother. She still doesn’t prefer roomy rooms, and she’s much more comfortable and used to small spaces and grew up basically sandwiching close to others in Inuzuri. (I think that same idea is why she’s a fan of Ichigo’s closet too, not to mention the more lively atmosphere there).

39. What recharges them when they’re feeling drained?

;The first clear thing that comes to mind is seeking isolation in a tree that has good wind or just walking in nature. It’s been a habit she has for the longest time. I feel like those that know her, tend to know her preferred trees and spots too. 

In addition, certain friends can recharge and motivate her. She’ll tend to draw some energy out of herself if those close to her need it or she knows she doesn’t need to wear a mask around them. Physicality in particular with friends tends to be recharge her too-- with kicking and punching tending to energize her but things like hugging and hand holding or other softer contact still giving her some recharge without driving her emotionalness to the top.

On occasion, sometimes blending in crowds can be a nice energizing feeling to her. Although it's not always possible with her class and renown in the seireitei. Blending into a crowd at least feels like a break from being perceived so much from a lot of people, which is something in particular that can exhaust her.

New distractions can be energizing– using her enthusiasm is good, or sparking her curiosity or interest. Chappy is most obvious, but there’s other ways too.

N. What are their hidden talents?

;I actually found a list I had of weird talents for Rukia(mostly from Rukon) that I'll detail on:

-Rukia can sew patches on old clothes. I wouldn't say that it makes her a good sewer or that she's good at it because it's self taught and far from clean. Pretty much a 'good enough' sort of deal and out of necessity, but she could be interested in actual sewing.

-Rukia has some level of first aid without use of spiritual pressure/kido. Like treating and wrapping wounds or stitches. She's not used to having good tools with it though. She probably wouldn’t hesitate to rip pieces of her uniform into makeshift bandages if needed.

-Rukia has some skill or knowledge in weaving/knots and tying things. She knows a bunch of weird ones, but wouldn't know the names.

-This also extends into making Daisy chains/flower crowns. In canon there are rings of flowers upon her childhood friend's graves, which at the very least means someone between her and Renji can make them.

-Rukia can spear a fish. She can get competitive with it, and knows a lot of camping skills. How to light a fire, put up a makeshift tent etc.

-Rukia also has a good awareness of pick pocketing/sleight of hand. She might be good at magic if she had the equipment, time or care. lol Though I think she would be more into impressing people and acting with it.
