Within This Ring ft. Hephaestus
Promised Starter for @mpxhephaestus
The noise is incredible. All around him are the mutterings, shouts, and gasps of others who watch with equally bated breath as fighters in the main ring battle it out. Some of them have long-standing grudges that aren’t easily settled otherwise, others just fight for the thrill of it- for that euphoric high of this lowkey battle. Invidia didn’t care what their reasons were for going to the ring normally, it was just his habit to go and watch as a spectator and see others who could not meet him in more refined places. That said, the escort did enjoy watching those fights when it was people he didn’t know very well because though it was violence, there was the glue of a fair sporting event holding it all together.
This is the comfort that brings his attendance each time until this evening when he recognizes one of the faces in the ring as a familiar one from one of his jobs. Ares was there getting ready to square up another opponent who was just as ramped up for this as he was- a fool paired with a fool for folly. Dressed well and easily moving along the aisles of seating Invidia seeks out a seat for himself to watch and scan the crowd without much disruption.
He deposits himself into a seat beside a man who is also dressed sharply who observes the start of the match with an amused and dimpled smile. Well, semi-dimpled smile. He notes with some interest that it seems that only one dimple emerges as those eyes move from the god parading himself around with radiating confidence to glance at Invidia as he sits beside him. “May I?”
Honestly, he doesn’t really wait for an answer but would move if wanted just the same. Politely he uses the flyer he has in his hands to fan at himself in the sticky warmth of the surroundings. Of course, it would be hotter than hell itself when he decides to come here for the evening and of course, the sight of fights would stir him under the surface enough to make Invidia carry a faint blush to his features. He leans closer to the man to be heard over the general noise, a slightly intimate action but it’s for the sake of learning right now, “Forgive me, but has he already fought tonight, or is this his first?” He means Ares and gestures with a flippant hand to the god, “That buffoon.”
His eyes move then from the ring and back to the face of the other. He’s nice looking, NV thinks to himself, unaware that a smile of his own is on his lips. “Also sorry, what’s your name?”
