Sometimes Seulgi was a bit too impulsive for her own good and maybe this would be one of those times, but she felt like she really needed to do this. Heading right over to Shiah’s apartment once her practice day was over (maybe she left a little early for a “test” for school), she took the chance to enter when another resident left the building to slip inside. She hurried up to the apartment, wondering if she would find her girlfriend there already, maybe taking some time off for herself.
She knocked on the door, for some reason half expecting to see Shiah standing there when she opened the door, but she was met by Jinhae instead, who seemed surprised to see her there. She informed Jinhae that she was there for Shiah’s birthday, but was told that she hadn’t arrived yet. Jinhae invited her inside, which Seulgi accepted, taking a seat in the living room area, on the couch, setting down a cake box and a gift bag next to her.
After waiting for a while, Seulgi was beginning to wonder if maybe she should have texted Shiah instead of just showing up like this, she had expected her to show up around the time that she normally would have gotten out of practice, but it didn’t seem to be the case. At this point, she didn’t want to ruin the surprise, so she still didn’t text. What she did do, however, was close her eyes, which was her biggest mistake yet, as soon she was asleep, sitting up on her girlfriend’s couch, not sure if the other girl would be home soon, or if someone else might show up instead.
Shiah’s birthday hadn’t really ever been something celebrated to the nines. She wasn’t expecting anything special, even though he father had surprised her last year. This year he had had the decency to give her the heads up that he probably wouldn’t be able to do anything because of work, so she didn’t bother coming home early from training. In fact, she had even stayed a little later to get some extra practice in. Why not? It was just like any other day.
It hadn’t dawned on her until she got back home and found her sleeping on her couch that Seulgi might’ve planned something for her. She just wasn’t used to expecting anything from her loved ones, but Seulgi had proven yet again that she was the most important person in her life, and meant the most out of any loved one she had. Seulgi showed her what true love was, what true appreciation was, so when Shiah found her sleeping there, she took a silent moment to herself and allowed herself to be emotional, crying softly to herself. They were happy tears, but still, she wasn’t one to show her emotions outright usually.
Once she had herself together again, she made her way over, dropping her stuff off by the end of the couch and scooting in next to Seulgi on the couch. She curls up, wraps an arm around her waist and lays her head on Seul’s chest, closing her eyes and humming softly. “Hey baby~” She coos softly, getting ready for a much needed nap. Even just them napping and cuddling would be an awesome birthday in Shiah’s books.
