beautiful.
Hugo hadn’t necessarily been fighting his feelings for Wendy, he just wasn’t really acting on them, despite how much they had been growing these past months. It had gotten to a point where if he didn’t see her that day, he’d worry, think about her, get distracted my the thought of her, basically be consumed by her until he got a text or saw her face in the hallways of Nova. Especially recently, she had been going through a lot, so naturally he worried for her. That and his heart didn’t seem to know how to handle the intensity his feelings had grown to. He was a slight mess, only slight. It was bound to get worse too.
If she didn’t at least have an idea of how he felt by now, then no wonder she was somehow still single. Who can be that dense? It was such a hard situation to be in, especially when his best gauge of how she felt was good friends at most. That was his luck, usually, and it was unfortunate. Of all the girls he could have that fate with, she was the last one he wanted that with.
His eyes searched the party for her, because of course he’d at least swing by and say hi. When his eyes finally found her, he froze. No-- the world froze. She looked... incredible. She was glowing, he swore it. A lop-sided kind of smile formed on his lips as he watched her, taking in every detail of her. How were all of these people not staring at her too? He couldn’t tear his eyes away.
Finally, he went over, mesmerized, overtly so, as he stops before her, hands tucked away in his pockets, otherwise they might wander to her waist or try to take her hands, and doing that right in front of the coaches was a bad idea. “Has anyone told you just how beautiful you look today? If not, it’s a sin. You’re breathtaking, Wen.” His smile reached his eyes ever so slightly, a soft crinkle forming in them.
