concept: Sterne, having become a space train captain after the fall of the next city (they didn’t want to get squished, and then realized that they don’t speak the new city’s language and felt unequipped to properly assist Pages in its duties, and then determined to fly around learning things and writing the COOLEST MEMOIR EVER so Pages can relive the wonders of space vicariously), stumbles across and takes on Hearts as an officer
then during the course of their journeys Sterne accidentally lets slip that they have a big ol mega crush on its former coworker and Hearts is like. okay my human “friend”. my “buddy”, “pal”, “comrade”.... you can NOT keep bottling this up forever. you helped me so I am going to help you. that’s the Bat Rules
and then it goes and talks to Mr Menagerie, who canonically maintains contact with Pages, like ‘hey I got a message I need you to send, here it is. to Mr Pages: it’s me your coolest former colleague come here a sec I need to chat with you it’s important’ and then makes Sterne give Pages all the poetry they’ve been hiding in their office for years and hovers over them both very impatiently until they kiss
I have been toiling VERY hard in Skies to advance the batfucker quest.........and it’s a good thing too because?? I’d barely actually played before this update and now I can sufficiently appreciate how adorable Mr Pennies is oh my GOD?? I keep giving it all my spare hours.......I know I’m essentially throwing money away but jesus christ SOMEBODY has to help this poor bat
anyways no spoilers about the route itself but I am highly satisfied with the sheer level of horny energies Hearts has been emitting thus far. or rather the horny energies the narration emits for Hearts, because some of those descriptions are just. not something you would think if you weren’t into huge mysterious powerful alien bat people
really though? really? sincerely? I worked VERY HARD getting Hearts’ questline finished, I deserve at least ONE cute parental interaction with the gaggle of teeny spacebats I helped bring into the universe......... please Failbetter
