"I do too," Ike said. They were outnumbered. Though that wasn’t exactly a rare situation to be in for them, it was never a comforting fact. It was even worse to know the enemy was employing ballistae and numerous cavaliers.
He tried for a smile. Even when things looked tough, he knew their chances of winning would be even more dismal if everyone kept a negative outlook. “But hey. That never stopped us before, did it?”
“Tactics and skill are nothing compared to sheer numbers!" (( hi ;v; ))
Though the tone of Soren’s voice was negative, Ike replied with a smile.
"I think I’d agree. There was no way we could have come this far without your strategies, Soren. We were outnumbered from the start, yet… Here we are." He knew that wasn’t what Soren was saying, but the facts couldn’t be ignored.
It was odd to see Soren was neglecting them, but he assumed the mage was just stressed. And who wouldn’t be? He had countless conversations with others about the oppressive ‘aura’ hanging in the air. Ike hadn’t felt it himself, but the mere trials of war were enough to get to him.
