“Weiss Schnee!”

Oh, there were so many people here! Penny had already seen Pyrrha Nikos and now Weiss, who else was here that she knew? Penny would have ran and hugged the other girl, but even she knew that they weren’t exactly on friend terms. Weiss had never called her a friend, it had been Ruby that considered them close, and Penny had learned enough about human social conventions to know that tackle hugging the heiress likely would not go down well.

Instead Penny seemed to almost vibrate as she ran up to Weiss, arms seeming to flail. “Salutations! It is wonderful to see you again, Weiss!”

Being in a large city full of people had been exciting at first, but Stella soon became aware that it was too much. She’d never been around so many people and so much noise and it was overwhelming on a level nothing else she’d experienced had been.

She sat beneath a tree, legs pulled to her chest and chin on her knees. It was quieter here, there were less people than in the streets. She tugged at the dog tags around her neck as she stared hard at the ground. To anyone around, she probably looked lost or like something was wrong but she was simply trying to find quiet after nothing but noise.
