ok so I collect CDs and I've been looking for three cheers for sweet revenge for so long and I have all their other albums (technically not bc I don't have a real copy of bullets, my ex/friend burned it for me for my birthday, but we're counting it) and I FOUND THE DELUX EDITION AT BARNS AND NOBLES TODAY AND I GOT IT AND IM SO FUCKIN STOKED

I literally sat. used Fantasia (specifically the dancing brooms). a film that is considered monumental in animation film history. pushing the boundaries of animation technology. as inspiration with the shapes and character movement. and did this.

Random nature rant I had while watching a video from The Click on YouTube:

Cuckoo birds are terrible. They are the worst creatures in the animal kingdom bar none. Whatever god created them should be personally ashamed of themselves.

Yes, I’m aware that it mentions cuckoos being a diverse family of birds. I am SPECIFICALLY shitting on common cuckoos here! (The other ones are ok; for instance, roadrunners have a Looney Tune and couas have pretty eye makeup)

So mother cuckoo birds lay their eggs in other birds’ nests (already needing to pay child support, and they’re not even born).

These cuckoo chicks hatch earlier and will grow faster than all the other birds in the nest (by the time they’re grown, they tend to be bigger than even their adoptive parents).

So obviously, the cuckoo chick gets the first food from Not-Real-Momma. But how do they get the MOST food?

Literally. From one of the Wiki article’s sources:

By the time the other chicks are hatching, the cuckoo chick is still very young. Its eyes haven’t even opened.

But it has, in its DNA, the urge to stab and stab and stab at the little chicks and kick their corpses right out of the nest. Couldn’t find a source for the stabbing, necessarily, but I’m sure it’s true.

I could keep ranting. Cuckoos’ eggs match whatever the host species’ eggs look like. How do they do that? Who knows!

Cuckoos have learned to survive like this! The ones who suck at acting this way don’t survive into the next generations! It’s in their blood to be manipulative little freaks! They can stay in England with the bovril and the navy beans, for all I care!
