I have a question regarding the last post you reblogged about how aro/ace people are mistreated by healthcare providers and how they don't come out to their doctors (this one https://www.tumblr.com/asexual-society/823864382351081472).
Do you know if that refers to healthcare providers other than therapists as well (like "regular" doctors, gynocologists etc.)? I don't have instagram and can't check the source for myself.
As someone who is aroace themself I had a bad experience with my therapist about my sexuality and orientation (first I wasn't believed / told asexuality wasn't real then I was forced to out myself in front of my fellow group therapy patients. Not fun) but it hasn't come up in other fields. At the gynocologist I usually just say I'm still a virgin when necessary and they don't ask questions. Maybe I was just lucky so far...
I guess what I'm asking is: Are there any healthcare related situations I should be more careful in to keep myself safe that I wasn't aware of yet?
Hey there, try this link, it has a huge selection of research you can hunt through, and here's their linktree. I've never had cause to come out to a healthcare professional of any kind, and while you can obviously report doctors for outright bigotry, I think the only time I'd be inclined to lie about my sexual activity (or lack thereof) for instance, would be if I knew in my area I was ineligible to access medical care/tests as someone who is not sexually active and has not had sex, like in this case (note: NHS rules have now changed but different places have different rules about all sorts of things), but it's not something you'd necessarily know about beforehand, idk. Personally I find that aspec identities aren't always (usually) taken seriously, I don't like coming out to random people as ace and do the whole Aromantic Asexuality 101 when I know I'm not gonna see them again, but that's just me.

Hello. You likely won’t see much of me, but I may be called Mod Citrine, and I’ve noticed the others have not properly introduced themselves. We don’t particularly approve of sharing ages or locations, but in the spirit of encouraging asks you may like to know a bit about us.
General preface: all moderators are over the age of 21. None of us have been in regular contact with the wider “vampire community”, though we have researched it a bit to confirm that what our experiences are are similar to what is largely believed by them. Independent study, if you will. All of us are some combination of queer and neurodivergent.
The moderators:
Smoke- a sanguinarian vampire who has dabbled in energy work to try to supplement the cravings. The most avid researcher of the condition and very eager to provide all manner of sources or citations, as well as the most frequent poster on the blog.
Glass- an energy vampire who prefers blood when accessible, but is largely content to feed from a crowd’s ambiance or nature itself. Her approach is very philosophical, and while she has looked into popular articles on energy vampirism she prefers to explore it her own way.
Key- the cryptid. He isn’t extremely fussed about defining the specifics of what he is or defining it by popular terminology, though he definitely feeds on something humans generate. He uses the terms vampire, energy vampire, and incubus for himself.
Bone- relatively newer to the game than the others, went through the awakening later in life. Generally not inclined to research past the practicalities of the condition, though exploring it has been interesting. Strictly sanguinarian with a preference related to energy, copes with substitutes and is largely uninterested in trying energy feeding.
Favorite substitutes include hot chocolate, pomegranate blueberry juice, hot pomegranate juice with a couple of spices added to taste, and writing character roleplay.
Further questions are invited, as we’re not sure what people would like to know. There are two further mods, myself and Ash, but our experiences are largely unrelated to real vampires. We mostly ensure the others go to bed at a reasonable time and watch for rude asks.
instead of 'throwing a coke in his face' cherry actually slapped dallas across the face, ponyboy just didn't want to disrespect his friend by saying it.
