question for fanfic readers...
i know dynamics have changed a lot since just 2020, so i've been curious about a few things. don't worry i'm not here to debate or anything i just have a quick poll for y'all!
i know one of the changes is a bigger desire for complete-only works, and that a lot of folks now filter out incomplete fics. so even if a fic is updating regularly like clockwork, it might not be seen by a lot of folks for a while; and by then potentially far back in the pages.
i've recently decided to change up how i write and post most of my fics, so that i write all of it out then post. (this is mostly bc i have adhd & this helps keep me motivated + more likely i'll finish it). but that leaves me with my question: if i have a finished, multichapter fic... how should i go about posting it to ao3? so yeah i'd love to hear back from y'all!
1. fandom doesn't matter, et cetera. this is just the pure like meta logistics that i'm curious about.
2. assume this is a 3+ chapter fic and solid word count for each, etc.
3. assume that each instance of posting will only ever be 1 chapter at a time, no matter the length, etc.
a fanfic author has a [finished] 3+ chapter fic to publish... how often would you (as a reader) want them to publish a chapter until it's fully uploaded?
Publish it all at once
1 chapter per day
1 chapter per week
1 chapter per month

the amount of bald people on this site is startng to become concerning
