This is overdue, but better late than never, right?
My name is Idazle, Ida for short. I have been writing since a very young age, but I only started getting serious about it two years ago when I wrote my first fanfic for the Miraculous fandom. Yes, fanfiction is what got me started. Sue me.
Admittedly, I was terrible at it. Even before that first piece, I was a disaster of a writer. I have this thing called dysgraphia. It does a number of things.
1. I have a tough time controlling my grip, so my hands hurt when I write for longer than five minutes. Gel pens make it a bit easier though.
2. I also hold my pencil wrong. I guess no one corrected me when I first started learning how to write and it stayed that way. I tried fixing it once, but I gave up. Too much trouble.
3. My handwriting is terrible.
4. Grammar is hard. It took me YEARS to understand how to properly punctuate, and for the longest time my words and sentences were written like this: oNCe uPoN A tiMe My CAt Ate A pieCe Of ChiCkeN fAt AND NeArLy ChokeD to DeAtH sHeS A LittLe DuMB But i LoVe Her (true story)
I guess you could say I did it before it was cool. I had to consciously think of every word and letter I was writing and train myself to write correctly.
5. Getting my thoughts down on paper used to be difficult for me, too. I couldn't for the life of me express myself through writing. Thankfully, this is also something I trained myself out of. Occasionally I'll still get stuck at something because I can't figure out how to word it even though it's clear in my mind, but it's not that big of a problem anymore.
6. My spelling was atrocious. That also goes with grammar, but let me give you some examples of words I actually wrote. Detention: detinchin. Butterfly: bud fly. Break: brak. Like: Lik. Yeah. . . it was bad.
It's kind of a miracle that I was able to get this far. I call that miracle hard work, endurance, and God. When I said to myself, “I kinda like writing,” He was like, “No, no, no. You love writing.”
So I love writing. It's my passion (thanks, Jesus).
My favorite genres are fantasy and adventure. I love it when there's some romance mixed in there, but you can't go wrong with just a bunch of friends (or enemies) going through the experience of their lives. But when it really comes down to it, I'm not picky. I read almost everything, so if you write anything at all, like or comment so I can check you out. I need some writer friends.
When I was younger, my favorite genres were actually horror and thriller. I was a weird kid. I was an eight year old writing a story about a depressed man just trying to power through life while simultaneously being haunted by a creepy demon girl in his dreams. Not an original story, but you see my point.
I jumped all over the place while I was still finding my voice.
Right now, I mostly write Miraculous Ladybug fanfiction, however, I am working on my own characters and worlds at the moment. I will post some of my short stories and WIPs eventually, but I'm still building up the courage. In the meantime, if you like an unhealthy amount fluff with subtle hints of angst, babies, pregnancy, and two idiots way in over their heads, you're at the right place.
I WILL TAKE SMALL REQUESTS THOUGH. Send me single lines, a paragraph, an idea of something whether it's fanfiction or not, I will try to write it to the best of my abilities.
Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you guys and reading your work.
