After a long morning of reading through her old diaries, all Olive wanted for some reason was a hot coco but even though she would never admit it, she was terrified to go too far without Cole let alone try and find her way to a cafe. She stood in the bathroom, staring at her reflection in the mirror. She had gotten used to seeing her reflection again after nine years of not seeing her face at all. It hadn’t changed much, it had gotten older that’s for sure but the most prominent difference she saw was the fear her body radiated. She looked like a scared little mouse and she hated it. She couldn’t remember the people in her life, but she knew she wasn’t always this weak and her diaries had confirmed that thought, so why was it so damn hard for her to go outside by herself? She stared for a few more seconds before shaking her head. “No.” she said as she made the decision.
After about half an hour and getting lost a few times, Olive finally found herself in Java The Cup, but the instant she stepped in the door she wished she hadn’t. She hadn’t run into too many people on her way there but she hadn’t thought about how packed the cafe would be, and boy was it busy today. The bustling noises filled her ears, the rapid movements of everyone moving around had her eyes skirting around like crazy and she began to back off, stumbling back towards the door but finding herself in a corner instead. Taking a few shallow breaths she tried to get herself to calm down. Nothing had happened, she was fine, she just needed to get used to this, but her whole body was betraying her and kept her hidden in the corner as she stared at the ground.
