USERDRAMAS EVENT 03: BEGINNINGS

for our next event, we would like our members to think about their “beginnings” in relation to asian media. this can be interpreted in a variety of different ways. some examples may be: “firsts” (first film, first drama, first gifset, first music video) that may have introduced you to the fandom, or your favorite artist. perhaps this is the beginning of a new editing or giffing or coloring style that you’ve fallen in love with, or even something you would like to try for the first time. you can consider remaking your first gif/edit, or even just interpret the theme within your favorite shows/stories themselves. these are all just some ideas for you, but feel free to come up with your own interpretations. this. event will run from Jan 2 - Jan 28.

My thoughts are with you and His Majesty day and night; I wish with all my heart that you receive the intended outcome of this summit with the Spanish, and that the Queen of Spain treats you with the respect and courtesy any family member should.

Though struck with a dour mood in private as of late, the Princess Elizabeth has shown the court that she is every bit deserving of the title of heir; she sits upon her brother's throne with such respect and gravitas that it is impossible for anyone to doubt her competence and ability to lead the realm in his absence. She remains just in her decision making and gracious in her favor, for which I am ever grateful to receive.

I look forward to your return and the beginning of holiday celebrations at court, for we have so much to be grateful for this season. Please give the King my best wishes for a successful endeavor and a safe return home.

Other than tales set forth from Alice Seymour's lips regarding the late Catherine of Aragon, the Spanish were somewhat of a mystery to Bridget. Catherine herself had died the year Bridget was born, and her daughter Mary had sailed two Spain two years later; her return after so much time naturally garnered a great deal of attention, and though Bridget had no political interests of her own where the Spanish were concerned, her aunts valued any information she could garner.

From what Bridget could tell during their first days at Dover, many of the Spanish seemed utterly boring. Queen Mary was notoriously pious (rumor had it she spent most of her time on her knees in the chapel, which was not something Bridget could claim to have in common with the eldest Tudor) and much of her court followed suit; how unfortunate, since the Spanish palaces were known to be the most glorious in Europe, dripping with the most lavish of decorations. It was a wonder, then, that the queen's children were known to be quite unlike their mother in all way, doing as they pleased with whom they pleased, as might become the lives of young royals.

It was the prince whom Bridget had the pleasure of discovering first, in the midst of courtiers moving from one group of conversation to another. The first thought that struck her as she found herself before him was that he was even more handsome than rumor suggested; his skin shone with the glistening kiss of the strong Spanish sun, his dark eyes twinkled with mirth that echoed those of his Tudor counterparts when a jovial mood struck them. She managed to tear her eyes away from his face to dip into a respectful curtsy, raising her gaze again as she rose. "Your Highness, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I hope your journey was pleasant."

For this event, you can make anything of your choosing surrounding the word and feeling of love! It does not have to specifically say love, it can be anything that represents love to you. Love can be happy, love can be angry or sad and the theme is open to all interpretations. Create to your hearts content!

                     Claybourne’s Spring Festival is here! 

THE BOOSTER CLUB FOR THE EMBELLISHMENT OF CLAYBOURNE are proud to present to the citizens of Claybourne our Annual Spring Festival. The Spring festival is a renaissance fair established in Claybourne to celebrate the best that Spring has to offer. With a flower fair, medieval jousting, market stalls and the wonderful weather to enjoy the Spring Festival is one of the Booster club’s favourite festivities to host. 

Drop into the Sovereign tent for a drink of hearty mead (or prosecco) and mingle with Claybourne’s very own Spring Sovereigns. 

Get out your frustrations with fellow citizens in the sparring tent. Place your bets or maybe discover something in you that was never there before. 

Sample some of the best food and drink produced and sourced locally. 

Buy handmade crafts at the market stalls. 

And don’t forget your costume! The Spring Festival is a local renaissance fair and although costumes are not mandatory, they are encouraged! Please post your outfits (if you choose to wear one) by the end of the event and tag @claybournestories so that we can see them. 

The Spring festival is an open Claybourne event. This is not mandatory but is designed to help nurture plots and interactions between players. The spring festival rolls into town on the 22/03 and will end on the 29/03. You may engage with the spring festival at your own leisure and although we recommend you finish making new threads by the end of the event, you may continue them for as long as you wish.
