I loved your ReginaGeorgeReader! series with batfam, it's novel and cool, very interesting and I love the movie! It could be one of how Damian and the batfamily would react if they found out that ReginaReader! She feels more at home with Rodrick's family; she is still herself but she is more charismatic and kind in her strange way of being, Rodrick's family really makes her feel like family, really family which is a feeling that reader is just getting used to (she was still hurt from being neglected by her father) and basically that, I hope she has given me to understand, if not you can it's okay! Drink water and stay healthy 💖🪼
Aww tysm, I hope I answered to your ask like you wanted... I'm sorry English isn't my first language but I truly hope it's what you asked me !
Their relationship started out of revenge (#spite is better than karma), bad decisions and the fact that Rodrick had no choices.
Rodrick was terrified of (name), she had a reputation. She was the pretty, popular, rich , and—most importantly—she always got what she wanted. Everybody knew it, people who had never spoken to knew.
(name) had a perfectly reasonable reason to date Rodrick, she wanted to getback at Aaron who said there wasn't anyone better than him.
In retrospect, that was the dumbest thing he's told her. as she took it personally. She wanted to make him jealous but there weren't many choices for her to choose. It was Karen who had given her the idea to date the number two IT Boy of Gotham Academy.
Girls obsessed over him because of his laidback personality (when in reality it was just laziness), but also crushed over his idgaf mindset.
Unintentionally, Karen gave the idea over lunch. She was applying lipgloss after eating a Taco Bell salad she had brought (someone paid it for her), she wasn't listening fully to what (name) said. She just heard : need a new boyfriend.
There was this dramatic Hallmark moment where Karen stared at Rodrick who was playing with his hair, because he had something in his hair, decided to steal lunch from eight graders.
"You could always go with Rodrick." Karen said
"Yeah, and at least his hair looks good pushed back." Gretchen teased.
"Whatever...I'm going to talk with him." (Name) said before getting up.
She practically skipped away to follow Rodrick in the music room.
It wasn't unusual for Rodrick to be alone in the music room during lunch time. His friends were either in detention or less ressourceful than him when it comes to getting lunch.
Rodrick was mindlessly practicing behind his drums, while staring at the wall. A poster of Löded Diper was staring back at him, he blinked and then saw her.
(Name) Wayne, the royalty of Gotham Academy.
He almost jumped off his seat when he saw her smiling at him.
"This...is nice." She tried to compliment.
"Go away." Rodrick muttered.
He didn't care that she could basically make him regret saying that by a snap of her fingers. He mostly cared about getting this part right, he had been rehearsing it for three whole days and it kept being bad.
"Rodrick." She said with a harsher tone.
He looked at her face that was trying not to appear like she was mad, like she would probably hit him with his drumsticks if he doesn't behave in the next twenty seconds.
"What'd'ya want ?" He asked.
"If we're going to date, I hope you don't make me repeat every two seconds. I said, let's date."
She handed her hand out like it was some kind of shady business proposal.
"Let’s date. And you’ll get tons of benefits.”
He looked at her like she was speaking some weird foreign language but the word benefits and he dropped his drumsticks slowly on his drum.
“And what are the benefits ?”
Rodrick had gotten so many girls coming to his house at night that his father had to call the police. He also had a restraining order against three girls who were not even from Gotham Academy.
“What do you mean by more money?”
“Basically I’m like super famous with a lot of people and since I’m that influential, you can raise your prices and no one will ever complain.”
Rodrick was interested in that. More money meant he could buy more stuff and one thing he’d really wanted to buy was that drum that costed around 2 grands.
“And what do you get in exchange ?” He asked with an eyebrow raised.
He looked at her hand again.
It was probably the stupidest idea he had ever made. And considering that this comes from Rodrick Heffley himself, that was saying something.
She took his hand, shook it once, then leaned forward to kissed his cheek. Rodrick froze.
His face turned bright red.
“I’ll meet you right here after school.” She said sweetly.
Rodrick remained frozen in his place.
“…the hell just happened ?”
Eight weeks later, Rodrick made triple the amount. He made six grands, that was after the repartitions of the money.
All of that was because of a stupid deal he made weeks ago, out of obligation and fear of the Queen Bee of Gotham Academy.
Basically somewhere between fake dates, concerts, school lunches, late-night phone calls and spending every single moment of the day together, (name) realized something horrible.
She actually loved Rodrick.
And even worse… Rodrick loved her too.
Neither of them had dared to say it out loud. Yet everyone could tell.
Everything was great for Rodrick, he didn’t have girls jumping on him every two seconds. Having a girlfriend as scary (intimidatingly) popular as (name) was an excellent deterrent.
Rodrick wasn’t complaining.
His father was definitely not complaining.
Not calling the cops everytime Rodrick comes home from his infamous concerts.
One random afternoon, when it was the two of them at the mall, Rodrick suddenly spoke.
"My mum wants to see you."
(name) didn't even bother looking up from her phone.
"Sure..."
Rodrick glanced at her.
"Yeah ?"
"You're not nervous ?"
"Why would I be nervous ?" She asked while tilting her head.
She then laughed softly, which made Rodrick give her a look.
"Your parents can't be that bad."
"It proves you haven't met my parents."
“Okay. Is this casual, casual-chic, or chic?”
“Just wear what I normally wear.”
“Before we dated or after?”
(Name) had already been to Rodrick's house a few times.
The first time, she'd nearly had a heart attack. Not because of the Heffleys. Because of Rodrick's bedroom.
There were clothes everywhere.
Possibly on the ceiling (don't ask how).
She'd stood in the doorway for nearly a minute.
(Name) had stared at him.
She eventually learned that Rodrick had absolutely no concept of organization.
Rodrick, meanwhile, had learned that (name) had what he called a “high-maintenance cleaning condition.”
He wasn't sure what the actual word was.
He just remembered waking up one Saturday morning to a woman standing in his doorway.
The woman smiled politely.
Rodrick slowly looked around his room.
Five hours later, his bedroom was unrecognizable.
His mother nearly cried. His father who heard the commotion fainted. He had been shocked to see his son's room so clean in all those years.
Susan stood in the doorway, staring at the clean room.
Susan looked toward him with tears welling up in her eyes.
“Can your girlfriend stay forever?”
“What? She's good for you. Invite her over this weekend.”
So when (name) finally arrived for dinner, she showed up in her Urus carrying a cake she had bought—Rodrick's favorite—and a bottle of Moët for his parents.
The Heffleys were immediately impressed.
Frank loved the champagne.
Manny and Greg loved the cake.
Rodrick loved that his family liked her.
The only problem was that Rodrick ate half the cake before dinner.
And somehow managed to finish most of the rest after dinner.
Greg stared at the empty cake box.
Rodrick pointed at Manny.
“Okay, fine. Next time I come over, I'll bring you both your own cakes.”
Manny immediately smiled.
“Can mine have chocowate?”
Rodrick muttered something under his breath.
Two days later, (name) returned.
And a bottle of Pinot Noir from Maison Leroy for the adults.
Susan stared at the gifts.
“You don't have to keep bringing things.”
“Oh, I know, but it's okay.”
(Name) smiled while Susan's expression softened.
“Well, you're always welcome.”
Rodrick looked at his mother.
Because after that, (name) started coming over constantly.
Sometimes for dinner. Sometimes to watch movies with Greg who didn't want to watch horor movies all alone. Sometimes Susan wanted (name) to stay for dinner. Sometimes because Rodrick had a concert and she wanted to crash at his house instead of calling Alfred at ungodly hours. And sometimes for absolutely no reason.
Eventually, Susan started asking her to stay overnight.
Then asking her to come back the next day.
Then simply assuming she would be there.
At some point, (name) was practically living at the Heffley house.
Her dad barely seemed to notice.
Or, at least, he didn't seem to know where she was.
Which meant (name) had absolutely no intention of correcting him.
She was comfortable there. Rodrick was comfortable with her.
The Heffleys had basically adopted her.
And somewhere along the way, their fake relationship had quietly become real.
Neither of them had planned for it.
Neither of them had expected it.
And the girl who originally chose Rodrick just to make her ex jealous had ended up falling for the one person she never thought she'd actually want.
