Being Kokushibo’s wife
Masterlist
When the two of you were freshly married Kokushibo genuinely believed his old age was catching up to him because whenever you were around his heart would ache and he would become unfocused, only looking and thinking of you. This is a feeling that would only worsen with time…like a fungus
Since you’re a human Kokushibo makes sure to take you out of the Infinity castle and disguise these dates as you aiding him on missions. Despite the fact that he’ll take you to a literal flower field or lake in the middle of the night while still claiming that he’s doing something important. You’ll bring tea and he’ll hold a cup in his hand as he listens to you talk about your day even though he was by your side for almost all of it. He’s quiet but it’s because he’s simply content having all 6 of his eyes trained on your face (he thinks the moonlight makes you look etherial)
Please come sit beside him in your estate while he is meditating or literally just sit in the same room as him and he’ll think it’s the most romantic thing ever because it just shows how comfortable you are together. He will open one of his eyes to sneak peeks at you.
Kokushibo will hardly ever initiate physical contact anywhere outside of your house, he’s a very old fashioned dude, so any hint of a possible semblance of familiarity between you two that is presented to others he sees as disrespectful to you. Purely because he does not feel the need to flaunt the relationship, yes he is proud of you but he’s also just very private. If it was his choice no one would ever be able to see you ever again if you didn’t want them too. Your husband would happily take out Doma’s eyes every second they regenerate if you even suggested that his gaze made you uncomfortable. Also, it is an active effort on his part for you to never meet the upper moons. Much to his disappointment you always wave at Akaza if you pass him while wandering the infinite halls, same with Muzan and Nakime. All of which seem strangely tolerable of both your humanity and niceties…probably has nothing to do with the 6ft3 eldritch powerhouse stalking you from close behind, fashioning himself into a parasol from the way he towers over you.
Overall this guy wants to take care of you, sometimes he does go a bit overboard though. One example being that once Kokushibo notices that you like something he will arrive home the next day with a lifetime's supply of that something (e.g. strawberries, cats, origami paper, the colour purple…)
One time he took you on another one of your night walks through a snow covered forest, he had you wrapped up tightly in a kakumaki with a moon embroidered on the back. Despite being perfectly warm you made sure to lean and bury your face in his arm as the two of you walked side by side with your hand enveloped in his. Then you hear a little cry. It was a cat. The poor thing was young and half starved curled up on itself in the hollowed out base of a dead tree. You’d gotten onto your hands and knees trying to coax the poor thing out of its hole. Eventually it hissed and Kokushibo had had enough. He kneeled and reached down the hole, grabbing the kitten by the scruff as it tried to scratch at his arm, he looked annoyed. “Ko! Be gentle, please, she’s small” you wack his side and tuck the kitten into the folds of your kimono to warm her up from the cold. She stops fussing immediately.
First, you request to hold her; then you ask to feed her; only to inevitably beg to keep her. Now Kokushibo’s estate, which had once held only himself and his bride, is now home to seven cats, all because he could never say no to you. After he saw how happy that cat made you he just kept bringing home strays, each with their own names, bed, and servant.
The only thing he does regret about getting these creatures is the fact that they invade his space, not that they have sensed their cat-dad is chill they will not leave him alone.
For example when the two of you are cuddled up in the morning, Kokushibo’s prime time for being able to soak up all of your love and praise. He will have your back to his chest as he burrows his face in your neck. (This man is addicted to the smell of your hair and skin) He’ll press kisses to your shoulder as he rests his hand on your stomach and between your thighs (it’s warm there). BUT. With the cats, they will try their best to squeeze between you two, laying on your legs or by your heads. Most days Kokushibo wakes up to the newest additions rugging at his bedhead with their claws. His stomach does a little flip when you stir from your sleep and turn to face him, hair a mess and wrapping your arms around his waist as you try to hide in his chest from your adoptive children.
Sometimes, when Kokushibo takes some time for himself he’ll get out a small knife and carve you little tokens of his fondness. Days later he will gift you an ornate comb littered with small moons, lilies and stars, stained a beautiful deep red.
His love language is acts of service. Kokushibo will melt in your hands if you touch his hair. One time you got the flu and were stuck in bed for a week, kokushibo spent that time by your side and keeping you company, with his head in your lap. This mountain of a man, the first upper moon, a demon. You would run your fingers through his hair and braid it endlessly, Your husband would practically be purring in your lap by the end of it. In return he would brush your hair and help you bathe, taking care of your nails and making sure to have lower level demons bring him festival food from the human world so that he could feed it to you.
One plus of having his estate located in the infinity castle is that time moves slightly differently, so you don’t age as fast. Little did you know marrying this man would extend your life an extra two centuries. Your face when you first saw a train after not leaving that castle for an unknowingly long forty years was probably very amusing to your husband. No he has not explained the time difference to you yet and at this point he feels like he’s in too deep for it to be a positive conversation. You have a slight understanding due to the drastic change in seasons when you would leave for the human world but not to the extent of your husband.

The best way to describe Kokushibo’s mentality when he first met you was equivalent to choosing a fish at the mall, he thought you were magnificent and decided right then and there to keep you.
You may not have been strong or even have much use at the time but he did like looking at you

Your first meeting:
You meet as any future bride would her husband…running barefoot in the forest away from a massacre.
It was the dead of night but when you opened your eyes it was like the sun was greeting you at your window, the village was on fire. Dressing yourself quickly you run to the front doors only to be blocked by a demon, gravity takes care of him though as he is crushed by a collapsing beam from your house. Opting for the back door you run into the snow covered forest, it was clear demons had taken advantage of the panic, using it as a chance to snatch up as many humans as possible. You thought other humans would gather around the river and run there, you could feel twigs and thorns prickling your feet as they landed heavily on the ground.
You run until your lungs burn from the cold air, you take a small rest against a tree, trying to catch your breath as your mind replays the screams of others in your mind.
Then you hear something, the only light available is that of the moon and your eyes strain as they try to search the darkness around you. Running your fingers through your hair you find the strands covered in ash and endless knots. Feeling a pit in your stomach you move to turn, only to bump into someone.
This someone was also a demon, a very tall, very bloodied demon. You freeze and your gaze lingers on the numerous eyes located on his forehead and below his cheeks. You decide to treat it like a bear encounter. One step at a time. Nooooo sudden movements. Gently step backwards as the snow crunches below your feet. Feet you can no longer feel actually.
“You have no shoes” he stated, who knew a voice could sound like the earth itself
You remember to take a breath before replying with “yes”
To be fair it was hard to think of a response when his two bottom eyes were fixed onto you with no sign of blinking, while the other four had taken to scanning the area around him.
Through the forest you hear a lone Biwa note, and a door appears. He steps inside. Looking back to the smog that curled in the night sky above, you follow.
