best part of gintama to me is that even after youve finished it once, its so much fun to go back and see again. soooo so good to see and hear how everyone who touched this grubby lil story w their grubby lil paws put their ENTIRE grubby lil souls into it. im consistently fucked abt the voice acting in the anime its. everything to me. it pains me to have neighbors purely bc i cant have japanese screaming blasting through my walls my pride cant take the picture it would paint of me

I'm still at the recovery phase so i haven't been able to go back and watch the anime properly without being miserable about it ending (again), but the impact it's had on me is CRAZY. for example, like you brought up the voice acting, up until now i mostly just knew sugitan from jjba and miscellaneous other roles but now like. his IS gintoki to me. I can't imagine him as anything else it's just been ruined for me (and it's great !!) same thing with kagura, hijikata, KATSURA and shinpachi (funny story was i was watching sket dance and in the first episode i heard his VA and i was like SHINPACHI WHAT'RE YOU DOING THERE)

but yeah. Gintama was such an experience for me as a whole, probably one of my favourite media experiences in general. I've said this before but I'm so serious, i think this show has ruined shonen for me completely 😭 I'm always going to be looking for something like what gintama has in every other shonen (i could make a silver soul joke here) but i feel like I'd just be disappointed, which is INSANE
