OOC lore post for the princesona bc I keep seeing those around.
Seriouses:
- His father & mother are technically still alive, though both are distant and unhappy to interact with him. This is why he and his Seneschal run the kingdom together.
- He was mostly raised by servants and tutors, resulting in his deep respect for the layperson.
- His father ruled on strict ideals and limits, including the attempt to destroy anything aligning with magic or strange creatures. The Prince had revoked all these laws and expectations.
- The wider kingdom adores him, despite his violent and sadistic nature. He knows that his people hand him the power willingly. In turn, he treats them as well as he possibly can.
- This does not apply to the other royals in his court- whom all wish to get rid of him.
- He is extremely paranoid & refuses to go anywhere outside of the castle without his guard.
- He is, unknowingly, a changeling. To learn this fact would destroy him. He knows something is “wrong” with him, but for it to be something this extreme is too much to handle. It is obvious when someone knows what dots to connect, though.
- ASPD & Autism haver because I cannot make a sona without this fact.
Sillies:
- He is deeply in love with his Seneschal and is VERY obvious about it, but his Seneschal is completely oblivious.
- He Slays Every Day, literally and figuratively. Serving Royal Cunt 24/7
- He wears mixed metals because he likes them all.
- He writes love letters that he hides away in a box never to be seen by the light of day.
- EXTREMELY PICKY polyamorous, but polyamorous nonetheless. You must get past his riddle 3 and his seneschal’s sword to get even a hand to hold.
- He is a gossip hound. Gossip to him and he will listen for hours. Pays off servants for info constantly.
- EXTREME LIGHTWEIGHT. 2 glasses of Champaign and he’s down for the count.
OOC Bloodborne Headcanons / Theories On The Beast Scourge, and The Old Blood
So, while I'm working on writing Vivians headcanons (which span the entirety of the lore and the game, changing as certain events transpire- kind of like a timeline for her development), occasionally some major lore headcanons that would be considered 'player knowledge' instead of 'character knowledge' tend to form. This is where I am going to post these theories and headcanons as I build up Vivians backstory and the lore centered around her.
Editing to add: Check back on both HC lists as I am slowly editing and adding more to them over time. Mostly because I work odd hours and tend to add to these while I am at work.
Most of these are going to be long winded, so buckle up.
On The Old Blood / Beast Scourge Origins
It is unknown for sure whether the misuse (or excessive use) of the Old Blood triggered the beast scourge- or if the events of the fishing hamlet cursed the blood and tainted it. Lore seems to point to the excessive use and excessive imbibing of the Old Blood as the catalyst for it becoming Tainted. I have three different theories as to what caused the Tainted Blood:
A: Aligning with lore- The fanatical and excessive use and fervor surrounding the Old Blood did cause the Beast Scourge. The reason being is it's excessive use: Laurence touted this miracle cure for any and everything- from the common cold to deadly disease, The Old Blood can cure all! However, I believe the blood had a viral component or mutagen- I mean, Eldritch God Blood, come'on. Definitely something nasty in there that isn't made for human consumption.
I think the excessive use caused the virus/mutagen to build up in the human body before it causes a rapid evolution of the human dna and genome. Either because we as humans do not have the necessary anti-bodies against said virus/mutagen or- well, again. Eldritch god blood isn't compatible with regular ol’ humans. I also feel like if The Old Blood had been diluted, or less of it was used in treatment (instead of a huge blood transfusion, maybe a tiny vaccine shot?) It probably wouldn't have gotten so far out of hand so quickly.
Another thing that supports this theory, is there are very few female beasts- Vicar Amelia being one, who excessively imbibed in the blood, and another female in the forbidden woods (if I recall.), which lore attributes to, women menstruating. Women replace the blood in their bodies through menstruation, which would lower the amount of the virus/mutagen in their bodies.
B: Fanatical devotion often twists and malforms that which is worshiped. This is still semi-aligned with the lores theory that excessive use caused the scourge- but focuses more on excessive devotion. We see it in several characters: Vicar Laurence, Vicar Amelia, Master Willem…All, in some way, show the same fanatical devotion to the point it literally consumes them (Turning them into beasts, or holding them hostage, as with Rom and Willem).
I think, the Great Ones possibly used the surge of worship and devotion to influence the mind of the humans that consumed the old blood. As it would give them a direct conduit of influence over the body. (As in the later parts of the game…come to find out the Great Ones really just want to have babies, so it makes sense to me they would influence the humans to move toward that goal- even if it inflicts madness or great chaos and strife. I digress).
Ultimately, as stated before, fanatical devotion can often twist and malform what humans construe as divinity, particularly when greed is added into the mix. Laurence being the prime example- he had great intentions when he brought the Old Blood to Yharnam. Did miraculous things with it, even. But somewhere along the line, someone got greedy or power-hungry.
I haven't analyzed Laurence as a character so don't come for me when I say this: but part of me really does believe the beast scourge is entirely the fault of Master Willem and Vicar Laurence because they got into a ‘who's answer is the most correct’ pissing contest. In Laurence's case, I think he fell into hubris.
I think he was so convinced that the Old Blood was such a sign of divinity that he became utterly enraptured and consumed by it, and he was driven by an all encompassing need to prove it- in part to try and change Master Willem's mind that, yes this was the path for humanity to take, just wait and see- and in part because, well. Quite frankly I believe he was driven to madness by the influence and whispering of the Old Ones because of how much Old Blood he imbibed, and consumed- he disregarded his Masters Warning and fell prey to eldritch machinations.
C: While still semi-lore complaint, it's a toss up, really. This theory is pretty much: the slaughter of the fishing hamlet and lust for power, and the resulting curse for their crimes is ultimately responsible for the scourge, and the Old Blood becoming tainted. One of the main things that works against this is that the scourge started to take place before the events of the Fishing Hamlet, so I still suspect either a virus/mutation caused by overuse of The Old Blood- but one that rapidly expanded, and was exacerbated by the events of the Fishing Hamlet which caused the blood to become ‘tainted’ or ‘cursed’ in retaliation of the Old Ones anger. This is kind of supported by the facts that, very obviously the Beast Scourge rapidly got out of hand and became overwhelming after those events, where as before it seemed to be mostly containable.
I theorize that, if the events of the Fishing Hamlet had not occurred, the worst that probably would have happened is the Ashen Blood scourge, and maybe people mutating into beasts every now and then, instead of a whole ass outbreak of the magnitude it got to. All in all, I think both events together (The overuse of the Old Blood + Events at the Fishing Hamlet) are what ultimately triggered the tainting of The Old Blood and rise of the beast scourge.
GH- Blood Ministration, consumption of The Old Blood, or repeated exposure to it alters the DNA. There is also a vast distinction between the effects of the Old Blood, and the Tainted Old Blood.
While it's pretty self explanatory, this is a very firm headcannon about Bloodborne to me. It's supported by cannon in that it obviously alters something in the human body, thus causing the beast scourge and transformations into beasts. So it stands to reason it alters or mutates the dna in some form or fashion, and the more you consume or are exposed to it, the more your body becomes altered until you succumb to the transformation.
I personally theorize it acts more like a viral mutation, and there are ways to lower the viral load as it builds up in your system (The Bloodletter weapon was specifically made for this) and some cannon sources also support a similar theory (such as, why there are few to no female beast transformations).
Hunters are, obviously at the highest risk for changes, as they undergo blood ministration, and also regularly consume blood to regenerate health or strengthen weapons. This is even more apparent after The Healing Churches bloodstock becomes tainted or cursed- more and more hunters fall to the scourge, which is a contributing factor to the overall problem as the game progresses.
My AU-Lore takes this a bit further, in that any human who undergoes blood transfusion is no longer considered ‘Human’- but rather an ‘Augmented Human’- as we can see, both in world, and in lore, those who have become Hunters have somehow ‘transcended the bases of humanity’. Whether that manifests as increased reflexes, strength, abilities gained as you play through- the point stands- at some point you are no longer just a ‘simple human’.
While my AU does mostly coincide with cannon lore, I do take some liberties with mechanics, and established lore, as well as creative ways to spin the lore to fit my narrative.
Hunters and The Old Blood: As stated above, Hunters are no longer considered ‘human’ once they start imbibing or undergo Blood Ministration. The longer a Hunter Imbibes, or is exposed to the beast scourge blood, the more drastic the changes in the Hunters become. It also depends on the hunters psychological state, as well as their overall physical health on how far they descend into beasthood.
Hunters that undergo ritual cleansing transfusions or inscribe certain Runes into their person have a higher chance of resisting this decent into madness or falling prey to the changes of beasthood. Some changes will still occur despite this- even with ritual cleansing: The paling or darkening of the hair and nailbeds, fangs or canines growing out, changes in the shape or color of the eyes, changes in senses such as smell or taste. Changes in body odor, increased reflexes, reactions, speed, or strength.
While these things are good starting indicators that someone may be descending into beasthood and should be closely monitored- they are also naturally occurring changes caused by consuming The Old Blood, as in my HC, it alters your DNA and causes these changes over time. Some of these changes are also probably caused as a result of the blood ministration alone (Strength, reflexes, taste, sense of smell, speed), and are permanent changes to the overall DNA of the Hunter.
Those who were given the untainted Old Blood only seem to have descended into beasthood completely if they continued to imbibe (drinking bloodwine, multiple transfusions, completely forgoing cleansing rituals) or were mentally unstable and allowing the Old Ones to overcome them (Descending into madness, fanatic devotion, excess greed, broken minds, excessive trauma or traumatic experiences (which lets be honest, the whole game is just one big traumatic experience.))
Those who were later given the Tainted / Cursed Blood however, seem to descend into beasthood much faster than the Older Hunters. Tainted Blood Hunters also seem to display different characteristics and should always be monitored carefully, as cleansing rituals must be performed much more often.
Tainted Blood characteristics include: accelerated mental degradation, or bouts of aggression. Lengthening of the nails as well as darkening of the nailbeds, Lengthening of the canines and darkening of the scalarea. Extreme paling or darkening of the hair…..
Characteristics of those descending into beasthood that should be given caution and closely monitored: excessive agitation, aggression, or bouts of confusion. Small patches of hair growing out of the skin, excessive thirst or hunger, particularly for Blood Wines. Foggy memory, excessive talking to themselves or to people that aren't there. Misidentification of fellow hunters or places. Labored breathing, or intense insomnia. Restlessness….
Characteristics of those in advanced stages of beasthood descent: These individuals are dangerous, and should be approached at the Hunters own peril: Clumps of hair falling out or excessive hair growth over the body, maleformed or bulging/ mutated limbs or extremities. Complete delirium or confusion, talking completely to themselves, complete lack of awareness of surroundings, hyperfixation on one task. Extreme acts of aggression or violence. Strong or overpowering bestial or bloody odor. Complete discolored scalars, excessive drooling or salivation. Obsessive consumption of raw meat….
Cleansing Rituals: Bloodletting or a blood transfusion with a source of clean human blood (or blood that has not been exposed to The Old Blood) has proven effective at diluting the viral/mutated load that tends to build up over time in a hunters body. Likewise, imbibing in Ritual Wine (A human-blood based wine loaded with cleansing herbs, or wine that is infused with the blood of a Saint) while bloodletting also seems to delay the descent into beasthood.
Another ritual, popular with Old Hunters is to bind specific Caryll Runes to their bodies, typically through a scarification process. This allows the Hunter to draw on the powers of the Runes to subdue the virus/mutagen inside their own bodies, and allows them to go longer between cleansing rituals. The process is not perfect however, as an Ill chosen Rune can cause an immediate descent into madness. This method of cleansing is not as popular with the newer hunters.
The first thought Abigail had when they entered the ring was that it was loud. The cheering seemed to echo off of the walls of the place, making her own thoughts sound soft. She tightened her grip on her uncle’s hand as they made their way through the swarm of adults. It felt like it would be easy to get lost here. Her uncle squeezes her hand.]
“Come on Squirt, when have you ever been shy? I told you, this is a good chance to make some friends. Friends like you.”
[Abigail shrugs, looking around, taking everything in. There were two kids who looked a little older than her in the center of the ring already fighting]
“It’s just loud.”
“Course it's loud, they’re cheering. Right now, they’re cheering for that one over there, the Underdog.” Gail’s uncle picks her up so she can get a better view of the fight, “See the one in the corner catching their breath? That’s Shadow Rider, they can hop into shadows but only for as long as they can hold their breath, and they don’t know which shadow they'll come out of. They’re a newbie. The other one, Jaguar, is the current champ, she can form claws out of her nails. Typically most kids back down after a scratch.”
[Abigail huffs, she could handle a scratch. Her uncle chuckles.}
“I know Squirt, a little scratch is nothing for you right?”
“Yeah, I bet I could take them.”
“Good! Cause I signed you up. You’re match is up next.”
“Wait really?”
“Yup. How else are you gonna meet the kids?”
“I guess that’s fair"
—
[Abigail was holding their broken nose. It hurt. Bad. Why did it hurt so much? The other kids didn’t get this hurt when they were in the ring. The cheering of the crowd goes silent. Abigail looks up to see why. There were multiple small black rifts open around the ring, they were destroying everything they touched and their opponent was starting to get dragged near it. A scream cuts through the crowd. A mother screaming, begging that they stop, that they would let her child live, calling for someone to intervene.
[Abigail realizes it was them. They were the reason the rifts were open. In the midst of the pain the small pressure in the back of their head that they kept there constantly was gone. Abigail quickly focused clamping down on the rifts, building that pressure back up. The rifts slowly close and the kid rushes out of the ring tears streaming down their face. Abigail had won by default. But it didn’t feel like a win. Suddenly they missed the cheering roars of the crowd, where was the applause? Where was the deafening yells. It was silent as the referee claims Abigail as the winner. It was silent as they walked out of the ring and into the locker rooms. It was silent as the other kids rushed out of the locker room when Abigail walked in.
The silence was finally broken by their soft sobs as Abigail crumples into a ball pulling their knees to their chest. The pressure fades and the rifts open once again as they lose themselves in tears. They had nearly killed someone, actually killed someone. They were a monster. The faint memory of a voice fills their ear.
“It’s okay little birdie, let it out”
[They feel a sharp pain on their cheek]
“Sophia Abigail Bauer!”
[Their uncle is in front of them. The rifts are all over the room, the black void pulling locker doors open and destroying anything that can fly into them]
“You have to focus! Shut it down, now!”
[Abigail hesitates for a second before focusing solely on clamping down the magic. Eventually the rifts close and Abigail sniffles]
“I’m sorry Uncle Robbert I was jus-”
“Stop it. You’re fine. The kid is alive, you are alive, and you won. Things are okay.”
“But I nearly hurt them!”
“Abigail you can't focus on that. I’m sorry but you don’t have the privilege. You’re dangerous, but that just means you have to work harder than everyone else. When you lose yourself like this, that is when people are in danger. Cheer up, stop focusing on the past. The only thing you need to focus on is what your next move is.”
“..My next move?”
“Yup. Tears bring danger, so smile. You won and everyone is okay so our next move is ice cream.”
[Abigail tries to smile but it comes out shakey]
“We’ll work on it, come on, you did good work today. You got a sponsor! That means your gonna come and train after school.”
—
“What’s your next move?”
[The voice of Gail’s uncle echoes through her head as Coven tells her the news]
“You’ll be staying with me now that your mother and Uncle are dead.”
“What’s your next move?”
[Gail smiles, it’s a little tight]
“Thanks for taking me in, when’s my next match?
—
[Gail is on fire, they can smell their flesh burning as spitfires flames eat away at their chest.]
“What’s your next move?"
[Spitfire is knocked out within the next ten seconds, Gail laughs away the pain]
—
[Cal is staring at her, waiting for some response. John is her father. John abandoned her. John could have saved-]
“What’s your next move?”
[Gail smiles loose and easy, with practice it now looks far more natural]
Gaz could only sit there in her pain as her blood pooled. It should have been like how most of the time they dealt with Aliens. Just find those twins and get out while destroying whatever they could in the process. Not like their dad believed in this stuff to help.
All of it was a trap. That yellow-eyed Irken had it all planned and they were only used to make them suffer. Dib was dead, Zim was dead, and Zes was too broken to even help anymore.
I knew something was off...guess I messed up.
Gaz opened her eyes slightly as she noticed she was being carried. Zes still looked broken down but she was still trying to do everything again. “I...I’m..I’m getting you out Gaz..”
She wanted to slap her but couldn't argue. She just wondered if Zes was going to tell everyone back home how she and Dib died.
Maybe she was right. Zes always did say she would have been so much happier being a different species.
She was about to say something when they heard the firing of something like a laser. Zes quickly tossed Gaz. The only thing Gaz could see was Zes's defeated expression as her body burned. The sounds were so muffled. The only thing left was the Pak that fell to the floor.
It sucked so much to not even be able to fight back with her end. All she could see were those horrible yellow Irken eyes getting closer before blue was clashing with it. Guess she could live with the fact that yellow bitch was gonna die for what was done to them.
"Guess...I'll..tell Dib how the fight was.." Gaz was just about content to close her eyes to join her brother at that moment. Then a sharp pain in her back came and all she knew was darkness.
000000
(Zes side)
Zes tied her jacket to try to at least slow down the bleeding from Gaz’s side. The cut was deep but she didn’t die., not like how Dib did. Everything was a nightmare since they were caught in Sycorax’s trap. Her brother’s death, along with everything that came with it.
No time for all that. Gaz needs to be home. I have to get her out of here.
“Zes...we came to get you guys..”
Zes’s antenna drooped hearing how soft Gaz sounded. Human health wasn’t something she knew about. “I...know. Zim’s gone too. We’re getting out of here.”
If anything the membran’s coming allowed her to get her mind back where it should be out of that computer. If anything, the desperation to save her only friend let her scoop up whatever sanity she still had left.
I’m not losing again. My life belonged to Zim...but now I’ll keep Gaz alive. I’m not failing again.
As she ran through the corridors, carrying Gaz there was finally the ship. It was Tak’s ship that Dib had, but it would have to do. Not like she doesn’t know how to pilot Irken's controls.
Before she knew it, Zes felt something burning within her. Out of instinct, she threw Gaz from her arms. That probably didn’t help the girl's injury. It was a good idea considering the burning gathered flames all around her body.
NO! NONONO! I can’t even do this one thing right.
“Zes…” Gaz called out weakly trying to reach for the Irken.
The pain she felt in her entire body wasn’t anything compared to what she felt leaving Gaz to die. “I’m sorry..”
Zes didn’t even scream as everything turned black.
000000
When Gaz woke up it was in a ship she didn’t recognize. Her side hurt still, but hurt was better than being dead. It took a moment for her to remember what happened. She wanted to react to it. The boys were important to her. So was her best friend.
Though she didn’t know if this was a safe place to even do all that.
What am I going to tell Dad?
“Oh, your awake.” A guy that looked like a goat came to the room she was resting in. Gaz remembered Zes calling them Vortains. “You were nearly dead when our scouts found you.”
She sighed. “Sounds about right.”
Why is he staring at me? Also, why does my back hurt as well?
“Well, I’m glad you survived. It is not every day we see a human. Especially when you got one of those on you.” The vortain just gave her a mirror when she gave a confused expression.
Right there she finally saw herself. Gaz expected to look exhausted a bit. She was almost killed on that ship after all. Though her gaze was on her back.
Right, there was a pink Irken Pak. From experience, she knew that wasn’t Zim. The scorch marks were a dead giveaway. Gaz closed her eyes and focused. Right there, the energy was barely detectable but Zes’s presence was still there.
It’s like she’s asleep or comatose. That dumbass. Still trying to do everything.
The vortain just gave her a moment. “The Pak was probably the only thing keeping you alive Ironicly. Your body may have become dependent on it a bit. Still, we’re looking for a solution.”
“I don’t need one. Just give me a bit ok.” Gaz just sat there hiding her gaze.
The vortain just sighed but nodded at her request. “Ok, I’ll leave you to rest for a bit. It’s a lot to process considering you just woke up. If you need anything just call for Nar. That’s me.”
In the beginning, there was nothing. A sense of warmth mostly. Whoever they were didn't matter so much. It was nice and warm and a sense there was someone there. For a while, it seemed like this is how it should always be.
Then the warm feeling stopped and things felt cold. More like they felt something. The light and sounds were something amazing for the first time.
"Welcome to life, Irken child. Now report for duty."
They just blinked at the robot hand that was talking to them. The name Zes was the first thing that came to mind when they searched for something. As much as they wanted to follow orders they knew they had to wait.
It’s still cold, I have to wait for the warm to get here. The warm one is late.
Then she saw another one leave the pod. Moments after the robot arm had talked to them. That was the one they were waiting for. It was odd watching an activation, and even odder to know that's what it was.
When the other one activated, the robot arm gave the same speech that Zes had. Except for this one just ran up and hugged the arm. Like that's what it wanted to do all along. "I love you cold, unfeeling robot arm."
Why are they hugging the robot's arm? I'm right here. You're the warm one.
They stopped hugging the robot's arm as soon as they saw Zes. Like a switch that flipped they were excited as they jumped down. Zes wasn't sure if they were meant to catch them but that didn't matter in the end. They were hugging Zes tighter than when they hugged the robot's arm.
“There you are. So warm for Zim. I love you the most.”
The smile on the tiny new Irken was contagious when Zim said that. Zes just let them hold on. "You're late you know. Come on, robot arm said to report for duty."
Guess I’m warm too. That’s nice.
"Wait, Zim still needs to know your name! I haven't heard it yet!" Zim seemed very put off by not knowing this fact. Zes was trying to let them think. Not like they said their name. They haven't said a lot of things since being alive.
They just shrugged with Zim still holding onto them. "Not like you don't know me, Zim. I'm Zes, don't forget ok."
Zim's smile just got wider when they heard the name. Even hugged a bit tighter. Zes couldn't explain why. It's like Zim should always be smiling like that. It felt nice just seeing it.
A loss this time didn't feel quite as terrible as before. It was turning into a ritual every time Zes got her recurring nightmare.
Tak smirked as she wiped the blood from her mouth
At least the fool stopped that pointless shaking.
She never downgraded anything Zes probably saw in those dreams. Tak..Kat just found it didn't suit the other girl. Nothing at all like it was from before.
Zes sighed as she just helped the other up. "Still don't understand why you keep doing this at this. Though you do have timing."
"You are still a fool if you haven't figured it out yet. Weren't you supposed to have been at this much longer than me?" Kat just looked annoyed.
Someone so built for both emotions and empathy. She is so good at guiding others yet still can't see it. I really claimed a troublesome one, haven't I.
Zes just looked tired again thinking about something. "Everyone keeps saying that. That doesn't mean I have all the answers here."
"Yes, but I am not that blasted Ukagaka. Even with my old muted emotions I still know better than that fool. Stop thinking in that context. I can see it all over your face." Kat just flicked the other Irken on her forehead.
At first, she thought the girl might be annoyed. It was something they both danced with even before Kat learned that she was Irken. Zes was just smiling.
She had seen Zes smile like this before but it was never directed at her before. A part of her just wanted to keep it and just make it hers forever.
"Thanks, Tak. Suppose you sticking around for this new reason has been helpful."
Right, I did tell her there was a new reason when my emotions were fully unlocked. Beyond her just being my equal. Apologies Reva, that face makes it hard to hold back.
Kat paused before going face to face with Zes. Being this close made it easy to remember that she was a year her senior. "For being so smart and you still haven't figured it out. I suppose I have to make my new purpose much clearer."
Before Zes could protest, Kat leaned now and kissed her. It wasn't anything too harsh. Probably softer than anything she had done in her life. Though it conveyed everything she couldn't speak.
Kat took some pride in Zes's expression when she pulled away. The girl was turning a new color while her Pak lights were brighter than she had ever seen.
She smirked. "I suppose I should have been more traditional, but I believe my point has been made very clear now. I'll try the gifts more next time if you still have doubts."
Suppose she won't be able to form words for a while after that. Good, think about that. It's much better than the pointless garbage.
The reaction had some hope for anything. Though, even later Zes expressed no desire for anything else. Kat still wouldn't regret taking action like this.
"I'll leave you to your proper thoughts, but we'll talk later."
I'll give that family unit the exception. Beyond that, no one is allowed to have you but me.
Sim almost grumbled as he saw Tak approach. At this point, it was more habit than anything else. She stopped having her revenge plots against him ages ago.
Way too weird just seeing her acting like this.
"Is she in there?"
He glared knowing exactly who she was asking about. He can deal with the multiverse, but Tak taking interest in what was his was a different matter.
"Zim doesn't want to tell you." He just adjusted his windbreaker as he stood in front of the door.
He could see Tak roll her eyes, even in her human disguise, before grinning. "So that's a yes then?"
Wait, I'm sure I didn't say Zes was in her workshop?!
He quickly moved into position to guard the door as Tak wanted to get in. "No, Zim doesn't want any of your dumb revenge near Zes!"
"Oh, I'll have my revenge on both of you now. She agreed I can spar with her whenever I want." Tak grinned as Sim stood trying to process what he just heard.
Wait, is this how most Tak's calm down? Also, what did Zes do to earn revenge? I'm so confused?
an infodump because @dalishunter is being wonderful reasons
Arlathvhen’an is located in the northwest Free Marches, North of the Vinmark mountains and to the East of the Wildervale. It is near the Southernmost branch of the Minanter River.
Protected by magical wards which confuse most who come near the area, Arlathvhen’an has remained a sacred, spacious area of land untouched by human development.
Numerous ruins are scattered across the miles of meadow and forest, and it is rumored that an eluvian hides amid the trees, in a cave one could find if only they followed the river...
The land is tended to by the Ilensul family now, consisting of Revanelan’s mother and father, one grandmother, 2 aunts and 2 uncles, and a number of cousins. However, the main caretakers are her mother and father, Adehlena Ilensul and Alhannon Alauma Sabrae.
They remain on the land and tend to the area nearest their home, a large field dotted with wildflowers and often empty cabins meant for those who choose to stay either during Arlathvhen or when passing through.
This is the common area, where most wandering keepers find refuge and stay while gathering the latest information on plans for Arlathvhen.
Only once in recent history has Arlathvhen’an been found, in Dragon 9:26, when a group of templars and a seeker from Starkhaven, in the pursuit of an apostate, stumbled upon the land by following the river.
