By lunchtime Jess had coaxed Zack to shower with her again and left him to get dry while she went and got dressed, heading into the kitchen to start on Lunch, nibbling on one of the cupcakes her mama had left for them as she did so. While Juliet was good at baking, Jess was good at cooking and she’d never properly cooked for Zack before. Their picnic snakes had always just included sweets.
