“It’s gonna be alright, John. We’ll get that boy back.”
Pose has photo reference!
Something I’ve been pondering awhile now since the ending of GoW… Did Faye love Kratos or was she with him because of the prophecy? I would have said of course with no hesitation before the ending, but now that we know that she knew who he was long before they met, it makes you stop and think
I think it’s easy to make the assumption that she might have used him for the prophecy if you view Faye in the context of “A giant who only had foreknowledge of these specific events that affect these specific people” (those people being Kratos and Atreus). But Jotnar regularly have prophetic visions (from my understanding of how they are portrayed in the game anyway), so we can’t view Faye as a regular person who just had one vision about a specific future affecting specific individuals. She very likely has/had visions constantly, about many different events with many different people throughout her life, and so the Jotnar would have a wildly different worldview on the future and the concept of “using” people.
Because I mean, if you have a vision about every relationship you will ever have, be it platonic, romantic, familial, etc, did she use all of those people for different ends because she could see those ends? If you argue that she used Kratos to fulfill the prophecy of her son (which I’m not saying your are, OP), then you would also have to argue that she (and all other giants) use people whenever they have a vision of them that has a significant outcome.
Also, it’s worth mentioning that Barlog, the creative director for GoW, has discussed their relationship in a number of interviews and was always pretty open about them being genuinely in love. So I think it’s safe to assume from all of that that Faye accepted her fate with grace and made the most out a situation that was, well, pretty bleak.
Plus, we have THIS tweet, implying that we’ll be getting content for when Faye and Kratos first meet:
Also simple math :
,,Laufey the Just” + kind nature of the Jötnar + Faye being praised by everyone =
