Yuzuha x Alice
The way these two were developed was amazing. Although their arc was really short and the only thing I paid attention to in S2, I genuinely thought Yuzuha disliked Alice or was a little distasteful of her presence until the truth behind those events came to light. Yuzuha thought she took love away from Alice’s life, but Alice taught her that Yuzu brought so much more love and light in than she could ever ask for. They’re my babies.
Lighter x Burnice
So, fun fact of the day, but these two were my OG die-hard favourites as a romantic ship. Yes, Seth and Jane were there and are on this list for different reasons, but these two really got my heart. Although their interactions were not indicative of romantic ideology, I liked the way Burnice’s and Lighter’s personalities came together like a hot, molten passion ready to explode. His more breezy, calm facade while she brings life to the party? COME ON. They’re destined to be married. Like, yes, I do like Lighter and Lucy too but.. sometimes you can’t forget your origins, man.
Remielle x Belle
NOW, you’re probably wondering, “why isn’t it just Remielle and protagonist? Why Belle?” WELL, if you want the truth without any sweetness added, I think RemiBelle has much more chemistry and is just far more interesting to me than anything Wise is involved with. I think this does, partially, have a lot to do with the fact that I’ve never interacted with anyone that writes Wise, and I don’t pay that much attention to him to begin with, but.. to me, RemiBelle just offers more of a romantic insight for me.
Nangong Yu x Sunna
It shouldn’t be surprising that these two are on here. The way Nangong is CONSTANTLY teasing Sunna reminds me of the way I used to be at 16 trying to flirt with people I had crushes on because it was the only way I knew how. She’s always teasing her, taking her stuff, always there when she needs it most. I think they’d be a really cute gradual romantic development, to be honest. Especially since Nangong’s teasing could be interpreted as anything by a flustered, confused Sunna lmao. We need them with a matching couples outfit on stage NOW. Aria our beloved third wheeler.
Seth x Jane Doe
The development on these two was something ELSE, I tell you. The way Seth was trying to reach out to Jane to get her to change her ways under the idea that she was nothing more than a criminal was just so heartfelt. In a big way, I think it’s a signpost of care she had never experienced before. Rats are often associated with disgusting, decaying areas or people who are disloyal to their own, and I sometimes think that is a reflection of how Jane’s life could have been for a while. I digress, I love them so much.
