the saying “time flies when your having fun” had always rung true for sookyung. it was true when she ran around the playground with friends in preschool, and when she skipped school to roam around cities with friends in highschool. and it apparently also rang true for fliming soondong, as the schedule for the fourth and final episode of her show got closer and closer on her calender quicker than her trying to get to the dinner table before her sibling. it was bittersweet, standing ready to film when she knew it would be the last time to do so. at least, unless she decided to renew the next time round. but nothing was guaranteed, so sookyung just focused on the “sweet” part, putting a big smile on as she started her introduction.

“hello hello everyone! welcome to soonsong, a show all about trying new things and testing your physical abilities. i can’t believe it! we’ve managed to make it through a whole season of soondong already! granted, it’s only four episodes and not fourteen or something. still, let’s make this last episode a good one, huh? and that shouldn’t be too hard, considering joining me to try out aerial yoga is the one and only park seojin! seojin-ssi, would you like to introduce yourself to the viewers?”

how was it already the third episode? it only felt like yesterday that sookyung was pitching the idea of soondong to the higher ups. but here she was, standing in a mirrored room in her most presentable sweatpants with cameras aimed at her and the guest standing next to her. she was confident, moreso than in the previous episodes. and it was with that confidence that she went on to do her usual (could it be called usual after only being done twice before?) greeting.

“hello hello everyone! welcome to episode three of soondong, a show all about trying new things and testing your physical abilities! hopefully you know me by now, but just in case; i’m bang sookyung, the host - obviously,” she says, laughing a little at herself. “i have to say, i’m very excited for this episode, as we’ll be tring out something i have been wanting to do for a while now: pole dancing! but before we get into all that, how about we first get into the other reason i’m excited today, yes? and that is our guest for the epsiode, miss haeun! haeun-ssi, would you like to introduce yourself? maybe tell the viewers a little bit about yourself and what you’ve been up to?”

it was finally time to film the second episode of her show, and sookyung was absolutely buzzing with energy. with the way the first episode went, she just couldn’t wait to get stuck into the second; especially after finding out what it was they would be doing. taking her place in front of the cameras, sookyung clears her throat and shakes out some of said energy, putting on her best host face as she gets ready to introduce the episode.

“hello hello everyone, and welcome to the second episode of soondong; a show all about trying new things and testing your physical abilities! today, as you may be able to see by where we’re currently standing, we’re going to be trying out a favourite of my grandfather’s: rollerskating! if you watched the first episode, you may know how this works already. if not, don’t worry! i’ll explain it very shortly. firstly though, let’s meet our guest for this episode!” at this, she turns to tee standing next to her, aiming a grin his way. “thank you for agreeing to be on the show! would you care to introduce yourself to the viewers, maybe tell them what you’ve been up to, perhaps even give a fun fact about yourself?”

sookyung really couldn’t believe that she was actually hosting her own show. she wasn’t the most well versed in the world of hosting, and it was only her shamelessness that made her seem good at variety. but still, the legacy higher ups had granted her her wish of having her own show. though, it was only now that she was standing in the martial arts studio, various staff and cameras standing in front of her, that it was really sinking in.

“hello hello everybody! welcome to the first ever season of soondong~ a show all about trying new things and testing physical abilities. i can’t believe i’m actually saying this, but i’m your host, bang sookyung,” she introduces, the wide smile that appears on her face the opposite of fake. “today, it’s all about taekwondo! but before we get further into what we’ll be doing, let’s introduce our first guest...” at this, she finally looks over at sanghyun standing next to her, throwing the old ‘razzle dazzle’ hands his way à la will smith. “..lim sanghyun! firstly, welcome to the soondong, sanghyun-ssi! it’s an honour to have you as my first guest. how about you us a little bit about you? what have you been up to during your time at legacy?”

sookyung really wasn’t known for being good with directions. it was the exact opposite in fact. she also wasn’t known for her amazing cooking skills. all of her meals were either cooked by family or dormmates, or ordered in. all the cooking and buying of food were taken care of by others, and in return, sookyung made sure to do more than her fair share of household chores. so it was safe to say that she had basically never ventured to any supermarkets since she had moved to seoul. therefore, when she managed to find her way to the nearest lotte mart with only a couple of minor hiccups, sookyung was definitely surprised. and that paired with the fact that she was to be meeting up with her good friend sori to ransack the supermarket's snack aisles perked sookyung right up.

now, it was just a matter of finding the other woman. which in theory shouldn’t be too hard of a task considering they were meant to be meeting up by the store entrance and the fact that sori’s brightly coloured hair didn’t exactly blend in; but sookyung wasn’t exactly blessed with height. and apparently, all the tall people of seoul that had decided to get their grocery shopping done at the same time and place as her.

closed starter for @lgcdawon - trainee mission 005 sketch

with her cue cards in hand, sookyung hums quietly as she goes over her script. ever since she was told she would be performing a small sketch to introduce the ‘coming of age ceremony’ performance, the song had been stuck in her head. at least it was better than caramelldansen, the song it had replaced in her brain.

she was looking forward to filming this sketch. sookyung liked being funny. if her heart didn’t belong to her instruments, it was likely she would instead pursue a career as an entertainer. the fact that she would also be filming it with one of her good friends dawon also made it all the more exciting. it had been a while since the two had been able to hang out in person thanks to differing schedules, and it would likely only get worse the further into their training and careers they got, so she wanted to make the most of their short time together. 

with this in mind, sookyung picks up her pace, speed walking to the room they would be filming in. as soon as the door opens and dawon is in her sights, she practically glomps the other girl, enveloping her in a tight hug.

“dawonnie! how are you? can you believe we were paired together? what are the odds huh?”

it was meant to be a quick trip to the upper floors and back again. one of sookyung’s friends had forgotten something, and she had volunteered to take it to them. and she had done exactly that, managing to find her way to the specified room without incident. however, it seems like all her luck had been used up in getting there, as sookyung was having a much harder time trying to find her way back again.

now, one would think that after being a trainee at legacy for almost two years that sookyung would be familiar with the layout of the building. and that was mostly true, for about two floors. for all the other floors that she had maybe visited a total of twice, it was a completely different story. if she was tired enough, she could get lost around her own dorm. so it was no surprise to sookyung when she turned a corner and found herself facing an unfamiliar corridor. or maybe it was that the corridor was too familiar. having only gotten three hours of sleep the night before, sookyung felt like she was losing her mind, like she was stuck in a labyrinth with no way out (though that was probably just her being dramatic).

heaving out a big sigh, sookyung leans back against the wall and slides down. she figures that instead of wandering around in the hope of finding her way out, she might as well wait until someone walks past and pester them into helping her. until then, she would busy herself with her phone.

or maybe not. as apparently, she had also forgotten to charge her phone, the screen staying black no matter how many times she presses the button. with another - much louder - sigh, sookyung stares at her dead phone in betrayal. well then, she thinks, if i'm going to be sat here, i might as well try to catch up on some sleep. so, after putting her phone in her pocket, sookyung pulls her knees up to her chest and tucks her chin into her chest and within moments, her breathing evens out and she has drifted off to sleep.
