Lost in thought as he’d been, Robin’s appearance startles the pirate. His eyes jerk up to meet her gaze, a wan smile curving one side of his mouth slightly as he attempts to mask the pain behind his eyes. The fallen log he’d chosen as his thinking spot was just at the edges of the camp - close enough that he could respond quickly if something happened, but far enough that someone would have to be looking for him to find him.

“Just an old man lost in thought is all, lass.”

Crystalline blue eyes are foggy with sleep when they crack open - just a slit, enough to make out the slim form standing at his bedside. A soft groan slips past his lips, right hand lifting to rub over his face. There was no use in lighting a candle - he planned on going straight back to sleep anyway - so he simply shifts to one side of the bed and leaves her enough space to join him.

“I’m starting to think you just like my bed better.” His voice is thick and groggy, but his words are just a tease. Killian understands nightmares, maybe more than one might think.

Easy Meme for a Burnt Out Mun

|| O gee. I definitely use music a lot to help me write, but what I listen to depends on the tone of what I’m trying to write. The drabble I wrote for Killian, I used Celtic music because it gave off the warm, content vibes I was trying to get across. Oftentimes when I write my dark one or vampire verses, I’ve got something low and dark on in the background. I can’t even name specific songs, cause I just put that particular station on Pandora and let it play while I focus on writing XD
