I've grown to like strategy/tactics games more this year, so I decided to try out the demo for Super Robot Wars Y and I had a lot of fun with it

I think my favorite (and most useful) part was the glossary of characters and events and so on the game has so you can catch up on all the series in it. I like that it includes character sprites too (though the demo didn't let me take screenshots there so just imagine...)

Overall, I think my favorite character is the main character herself (nicknamed Tecchi in my playthrough) because she's such an instigator. There are some characters that are too annoying for me but I do often enjoy annoying characters lol. From the existing characters featured in the demo, I think my favorite character ended up being Takuma from Getter Robo Arc. He's also an instigator, but less on purpose and more in a hot-blooded youth type way. Also, I'm always amused by characters who use "dude" in translation 👇

And IDK if this is an actual location in one of the series represented in this game but this got an unintentional laugh out of me

The only thing I wasn't really a fan of is how the original female characters are designed in comparison to the original male characters. I feel like just putting the official art of the main characters next to each other illustrates my point 😒

#like the male protagonist is probably also designed to be appealing but it's not the same #okay this isn't the surprise something i was talking about and there wasn't even any gundam i knew in it (so far wing and g were featured)#but it is mecha related so #◯

I'm amused by dren being included in char and garma's pool party. Also it's interesting that garma and icelina's relationship is being seen in a more sinister light here instead of just another facet of his naivety

Sayla and char's first encounter happening in luna 2 instead and also char straight up trying to kill amuro there too are fascinating changes

Amuro seems to be surprised by earth's gravity despite the fact that he used to live there but it has been a long time and the viewers (well readers I guess) at this point don't know any of that
