Suzanne Hudry, French National Cycling Champion, 1926. by Robert Via Flickr: Ah, the glamour of bike racing. Not for Suzanne, I'm afraid. No ritzy razzmatazz presentation ceremony and cheering crowds then. She looks to have been through a very tough race to win the French national title in 1926 as she stands by her bike covered in mud and soaking wet. Sad to think she's had no recognition of her title win that I can find. The 43k. event took place at Saint-Cyr, near Paris. I don't see anything on the internet or in cycling history books about her. Anyone know some details of her career?

Jamaica Street, Glasgow. by Robert Via Flickr: Masses of tramcars on Jamaica Street. The large up-market Paisleys clothing store is on the corner. Later on it was taken over by House of Fraser but it wasn't a success and didn't last too long. The Colosseum Picture House is beside Paisley's in Jamaica Street.
