At this point I would like these Olympics to be the Nagano 20th Anniversary Edition, i.e., the USA Women’s team and the Czech Men’s team both win gold.

Writer’s Would You Ever So you've got James Neal, Werewolf Detective. Picture Ben and Jenny Scrivens, werewolf Nick and Nora of the Winter Olympics? Maybe someone is stalking Olympic wolf athletes? Jenny's not letting up until they figure out what's going on.
(I will say that I had to google Nick and Nora and saw that they’re from a Dashiell Hammett book and had an immediate averse reaction because I read Red Harvest and can never get that time in my life back.)
Would I write it? No, because I don’t know enough about the Scrivenses to write them, and I still have some reservations about writing non-famous family members (I know Jenny has been on that tv show at some point and played in the NWHL but I don’t know her from those, so it would still make me feel weird). Would I read it? Hell yes, because they’re an adorable couple (I just came across their wedding photos again the other day and was laughing so hard) and that sounds like a fun read. Also, because I think that Ben Scrivens would make a horrible detective and would more often than not have to serve as the distraction while Jenny did the actual investigating.
Watching the Olympics on NBCSN. They flashed back to the studio with Liam McHugh. My sister started moaning, “Noooo, why is he here? Why does it have to be Liam? Send him back! Lose him in the China Sea!”
Just as I started to say, “Hey, it could be worse,” the camera panned out, and they announced that after the commercial break Liam would be joined by Jeremy Roenick.
Me: “Oh, wait, yep, it got worse.”
Just want to take this moment to remind you all that Little Swede is playing in the Olympics and we should all be Very Proud of him.
de grasse won bronze 😍🇨🇦😍🇨🇦
i hate that i’m a low key olympics blog rn, i don’t even Believe In the olympics and i can’t even watch them? but also i am so, so excited for the paralympics, i got to see wheelchair rugby irl at the parapan am games in toronto last year and it was fucking amazing
(also in women’s soccer we both beat germany and came out at the top of our group for the first time ever)

i really hate the idea of banning russian athletes wholesale! like, increase the rigour and frequency of testing! have third party observers every step of the way! but like. don’t punish athletes who weren’t even at the last olympics. don’t punish athletes who didn’t feel like they had a choice about whether or not to cooperate with state-sponsored doping. if you wanna punish russian institutional athletics, punish russian athletic institutions, don’t punish individual russian athletes, and don’t alienate russians who had nothing to do with any of it and just wanna watch their country compete in the fucking olympics
Every time I hear Ted Ligety's name I sing it to the tune of "No Diggity" and I am not ashamed.
