Dante loves his little brother Emilio (@strawberryxdreams) so much that he was willing to become the bad guy to protect him. He absolutely has blood on his hands and he doesn't regret it a single bit because the world never cared about them right from the get-go.
He entered organized crime as the only means to support him and his brother. He was kicked to the curb once he became too old to remain at the orphanage and refused to leave Emilio behind. Trying to get honest, good paying work as an orphaned teen in Italy without a penny to his name after was impossible. So in the end, he became a drug mule for the local mafia and they had no plans of letting him go.
He struggled for years to earn his place before he finally decided he was strong enough to attempt leave. And surprisingly, the group let him and Emilio go. Was it simple luck? Was he so worthless that they assumed he would just die on the streets before he ever became anything? Who knows...
That's when Dante went dark to learn the trade, how to work the Black Market scene. He rebranded, going only as "Scorpio" when on the job. He met with very few clients in person. He had to start out small and build himself and his reputation up slowly. That meant many sleepless nights spent securing a good life for he and Emilio.
Now, after years and years of blood, sweat and close calls, he has a select group of agents and a steady flow of clientele. He amassed a small fortune so that he and his brother could live better than they ever had. So Emilio would never have to go to sleep hungry again, so he could have a roof over his head and a bed to rest in. Dante made it so no one could take anything from them ever again.
