pearlpeak doing a red white & royal blue cosplay has me 🤩
Omg, I want to ask you about like allllllll your Convin fics, lol! But! I am very drawn to what exactly the Boy Detective one is? 👀 I absolutely love younger Gavin interacting with Hank, and throwing Allen in there too is inspired. I'm very 👀👀👀👀👀
Ohh yeahhh 👀👀👀 More Reed800 let's goooo 😂 Boy Detective is set pre-android though, so Connor was not born yet HAHA.
Boy Detective
Connected to my chloski WIP, Heliosphere.
setting: summer 2019. approaching his senior year in high school, gavin reed was at the point of life where he needed to decide what to do with his life.
Gavin's an ambitious, hard-working student despite his "bad boy" exterior. His mother's health was failing by this point, and Gavin worked two part-time jobs to alleviate the burden and save up.
He'd heard that someone his age, a genius who graduated from university at 16, started a robotics company right here in Detroit the year before. Then Gavin discovered a summer internship programme at that company. Despite it being a start-up, the job looked promising, so Gavin applied.
He was accepted to be the CEO's temporary personal assistant. It felt odd that someone his age was also his boss, but there's something about this guy—Elijah Kamski—that felt familiar.
The young company, CyberLife, was manufacturing some tech stuff, but Kamski was set on his masterpiece: androids. However, he faced difficulty when he couldn't secure the Arctic minerals he first used in his university lab for the blue blood prototype, which resulted in a very life-like android. Whatever sample that arrived was too little despite it being so expensive.
And then, during the internship, Gavin saw suspicious cash flow and discrepancies at the logistical records. Curious, he checked out the warehouse. He found out that someone in the company had been taking cuts from the shipment of those minerals, and channeled it to a drug syndicate. They were creating a new type of synthetic stimulant drug, more potent than cocaine.
Gavin was spotted by the criminals and he ran to hide in the warehouse (only place he could go to because the exit was guarded by the criminals). He couldn't call 911 because there was a signal jammer.
At the same time, Detective Hank Anderson was on a stakeout with Officer Allen, his mentee. They'd heard of a suspected activity near that warehouse, though it was a weak tip. But then they saw suspicious movements. Tried to call backup but the jammer made their radio signal patchy. Then they saw Gavin running into the warehouse and being chased. So they both decided to step in to save Gavin.
Inside the warehouse was super confusing. Hank and Allen even got separated. But the three of them figured out how to work together, though separated, leaving clues for each other and traps for the criminals. (So there would be a moment where Gavin knew that the police were here but he couldn't come to them right away)
There would be some action scenes once Hank and Allen came face to face with the criminals, with Gavin watching. This would later on plant the seed of Gavin wanting to join the police force.
Yup. Haha. I am struggling to finesse how exactly would the warehouse cooperation work. 😂
I was thinking about it after rereading the chapter where the two of them talk, and I'm curious what you think about it: Do you think Spinner actually hates Deku?
Well, I can't imagine Spinner having that many good feelings towards Deku when he reacts like this:
That last image, especially, comes after Deku relayed Shigaraki's last words, and Spinner promises not to let the League be forgotten. Specifically, he promises "I bet you'll forget all about Shigaraki Tomura and the League. Just smiles and good times for you. I'm gonna write a book... that will stick it to you heroes forever...."
So that's a big grudge! He resents that Heroes and the world will go on, unchanged (remember, Spinner said: "If Heroes win the day, nothing will change"); he won't let the League's struggle against these Heroes be forgotten; and it's framed as "sticking it' to the heroes.
(This is also the glare that Deku remembers with a stab of pain the next chapter when someone congrats him on killing Shigaraki calls him inspiring for killing Shigaraki.)
Then also Deku does and responds to that with "Make it a comic book" which is quite the callous line to a grieving, angry League survivor; which is why Spinner looks like that, in the third image.
Above all, you know. Deku killed Shigaraki. Who Spinner considered his first friend and just wanted to be by his side and lighten his burden and achieve his dream. Also can't imagine Spinner have a lot of good feelings to his friend's murderer (which is what he calls Deku).
I hate Deku a lot! But I can't say for certain that Spinner is the same - at the very least, considering the evidence, he doesn't like Deku very much.
That said, I think he does give Deku the grudging respect of an enemy. Deku did after all delivered Shigaraki's last words to him and told him about Shigaraki's feelings; and Spinner didn't immediately crush his tiny little body in rage when he had the chance. And he trusted Deku to deliver a message to Shoji too (a message that also conveys some respect for an enemy - "ganbare", do his best) (just like Shigaraki said to Deku).
it wasn’t explicit but ekko’s words saved jinx in the end because she wanted to kill herself before she met him
now she’s just staying away, which was what she wanted but in another method now
I feel like an evil little gremlin every time someone comments on my Prongsfoot fic and art with: “I never shipped it before now” and I feel my heart beat faster and I start to laugh shrilly
I FOUND A SENKU PIN
TODAY IS AWESOME
What a great way to start the weekend... How I've waited to see this!
