something i think gets lost on people is the concept of humanity, it has a positive connotation but it doesn't necessarily mean always being the bigger person, it's just a way to BE human or human in a collective.

so when we talk about batman losing his humanity because he killed as an act of revenge, specifically the joker, i would argue he already has.

it is HUMAN to want to protect your own, and when you fail to do that, it's just as human to want revenge. bruce consistently denies himself vengeance, and every time he does, we see him slip further and further away from the people he calls family because he can't connect to them.
