She barely has a moment to react before the spray hits her in the face, and she doubles over a little to wipe at her eyes, whining at the stinging sensation.

“What the hell do you think you’re…”

Her movements slow, and she blinks as she lifts her face and looks around. “Where… where am I…”

Her eyes drift down to look at herself, and her expression is even more confused. “What is this? Why am I so pale?” Her hands linger over her chest. That’s different too.

She pulls at her clothing, at her hair. “Did I eat something bad? I feel strange… Irah. Where’s Irah, I need to get that bread to him—“

The shopkeeper… he’d yelled and chased her after she’d stolen from his stall in the market, and he’d tackled her and hit her in the head and then—

Nothing.

She doesn’t remember anything more than that.

But she looks so different. Older. Waaaay older. And weirdly yellow-haired and pink-skinned. With clothes that would take so much money to dye such bright colours….

“What do I do now?”

Currently Reading: I just finished Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia - and it captures mood and atmosphere so well! The author really knows how to set a scene and fill pages with tension, even when nothing is happening. I hope I get to re-read this in the future. Otherwise, The World in a Grain: The Story of Sand and How It Transformed Civilization by Vince Beiser (also well worth the read).

Current Watching: Falcon and the Winter Soldier! I am very slow so no spoilers here, but the first episode was such fun!

Current Playing: Cinders on the Switch; it’s an absolute *steal* for 2 bucks (so if you like visual novels, go grab it! Well worth your time!!) and so full of characterization - it really does feel like a long fairy tale, though I wish we got to spend more time with the Prince outside of the Ball, lol

Last Movie: I don’t remember, in all honesty....
