I had many many problems with httyd 3, but the fact that we didn't get to see Hiccup fly Toothless like this may be the biggest.

Just got a memory notification that this happened 2 years ago. WDYM TWO YEARS AGO????? This was like last week to me.

“The failed son, whose father wishes he’d never been born.”

Now Aaravos said he never lies. So there are two possibilities:

He’s lying here, or he’s NOT.

If he’s lying (which would be annoying considering his whole ‘truth’ thing is cool) then that’s kinda relieving?

But if he was telling the truth— Viren wtf.

(If it’s true then Viren probably only felt that way until s5 maybe, but STILL.)

Soren could still have those words echoing in his head, and he never got to know the truth Viren was going to tell him. He’ll forever believe what Aaravos told him cause it lines up with everything in his life (except Viren’s last act to save Katolis).

Who knows, maybe Soren thinks differently now. After all, Viren was ready to sacrifice Soren before, whether for an egg or for the army. But then he up and went used his own heart instead of his son’s. So.

Ugh it’s just SAD ok. Soren is too good for this.

Eva Tsunaka, What are you?

-A lie

Halo, oh halo

Give me your light

Do not allow the monsters here tonight

Halo, oh halo

Your purity is mine

Make me better, make me fine

Halo, oh halo

Please, won’t you look me in the eyes

Stand to the front, cover my wiles

Halo, oh halo

Allow me to fly

Allow me to watch from the sky

What am I?

I am a lie.

Writing Process

Out of the 3 main groups of poetry I decided to choose dramatic poetry instead of lyric or narrative. I wrote this poem in couplets with an interjection of repetition between each one until the ending. The reason I chose this is because Eva is a repetitive person in way, she begins to become happy and than ends up unhappy again either due to her circumstances or herself, the repetition also gives off a feeling of desperation that Eva holds within herself. As for the couplets, I chose it due to Eva’s two sides of herself, the ideal version and the true version. She seems to believe that being this ideal version of herself will help with all her issues, that it will protect her and give herself, so I decided to make that the main image being pushed in the poem.
