Wait I’ve never fully watched Avatar: The Last Airbender, nobody can do multiple types of bending other than the avatar right? And like people’s types of bending are based on their ancestry or something? Like Toph bends earth because she was born to those peoples. Like how does this actually work with mixed people and even like adopted people, if someone from the fire nation was adopted by the earth kingdom would they fire bend or earth bend 🤔

171 GACHIAKUTA SPOILERS

I will say, as someone who has recently turned 18, Zanka and Eishia’s struggle being highlighted in the new chapter is so accurate to the experience of being 17. Being a child, but being too old to let yourself feel like a child. Knowing you need to start focusing on growing up. They want to change, they have to change. Just that general sense of being too old to be the same as you’ve always been, because the second you’re 18 it has to be different, you’re an adult by then, right? You have to get yourself together, you’re too old to be unsure. I see that reflected so accurately on their characters, it makes me so confused when people say they thought they were adults?? Like bro the teenagers in this series are most teenager I’ve ever seen in most anime, minus the magical powers.

Gender/Ships in Deltarune

I don’t know any other media that handles gender the way that Deltarune does, not only does it reverse the trope that the non-human character is also the nonbinary one by making a every human we’ve seen gender neutral compared to the monsters and darkeners who do have binary genders. It also allows for these characters with binary genders to be gender non-conforming. Susie who is more masculine, and Ralsei who is more feminine. Not only that, but there are numerous characters who also go by multiple pronouns. For example, Lanino (He/They) and Elnina (She/They).

I do like how, in the most recent chapter, when you’re voting for the festival king and the festival queen that Kris can be either (and is seemingly willing to be either) and the game doesn’t like change the title to like flower royalty. A lot of people forget being nonbinary isn’t one solid thing, the label is an umbrella. There’s hardly any nonbinary people who nonbinary the exact same way. In the same section of the game, Susie tells Noelle and Kris to vote for her as Festival King. She is hoping for her and Noelle to be crowned as Festival Queen and Festival King. I have no way of knowing if this festival is very rigid in what they’d call the winning couple (because Rudy does state “maybe this year there’ll be two Festival Queens instead”) but it does stand out to me that Susie takes the initiative to tell her friends to vote her for the Festival King spot. Not to mention that Susie is just doing it for fun, as she knows she likely won’t win due to being kind of ostracized in her town.

I’d also like to state that; being homosexual/asexual in a heteronormative society is, in its own way, gender non-conforming. This does not mean every queer person identifies as being gender non-conforming. It’s just important to recognize that — to heterosexual and cisgender people — queer people are not conforming to the roles that society has placed upon their bodies. There is a wide array of queer characters in Deltarune, and because Hometown appears to be heteronormative, I figured this to be important to state.

On the topic of sexuality, I wanted to bring up how we discuss ships with nonbinary characters. Kris is included in a lot of popular ships. In specific I’m talking about with Berdly, Susie, Noelle, and Ralsei. There is a push to call any ship that includes a nonbinary character and a woman a lesbian relationship. On the other side, there is a push to call any ship that includes a nonbinary character and a man a gay relationship. Which is totally fine, there’s no issue with that. The issue comes when someone doesn’t see the relationship that way. Let’s take Berdly and Kris for example, because I’ve seen it more with them.

Let’s say somebody posts about Deltarune and they’re talking about their favorite ship, Kerdly (is that anyone’s favorite, like #1? 🤔) they decide to share their Headcanons. They headcanon Kris as whatever and they headcanon Berdly as a straight ally. Obviously, this might make some people uncomfortable. They might think this person is saying Kris is a girl, because they think that if someone dates a nonbinary person; that they have to identify as being queer in someway. This is because people have begun to see nonbinary as more of a binary third gender than what it is; nonbinary. A relationship with a nonbinary person is almost always queer, unless that enby states they don’t see their relationship as queer. What doesn’t connect for some people is this; Straight/Heterosexual people can be in queer relationships.

That might sound strange, but it’s true. Think of a straight asexual man. If he is in a relationship with someone; that relationship is queer. If a straight person is in a relationship with an enby; that relationship does not necessarily mean that they see their partner as “the opposite gender”. Just like how a gay person doesn’t see their nonbinary partner as “the same gender”.

This goes for all ships that include nonbinary characters as well. As long as you understand the nuances of gender identity; put them in whatever relationship you want (excluding the obvious). So if you see Kerdly as gay and Kralsei as straight, sure why not 👍

Although, I will say Kriselle would be lesbian because of Noelle. With what we’ve seen, she is not attracted to men.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted some poetry on here, take this Pattern poetry I did to try out a new style. (If you recognize this poem as in you know me in real life, bro leave me alone 😭)

Like A Dog? Is a poem about being so starved for love that you accept it in its most dehumanizing form. It’s about someone feeling so unwanted that they’re willing to be wanted like a pet rather than a partner.

(I included the unshaped version because there is some lines I couldn’t fit into the shape. If you feel the need to post this on another platform, please restrain yourself.)

In addition, the title being shaped into a large ball wasn’t just because I thought It’d fit. The large ball and small dog symbolizes an impossible task. The small dog’s jaw is not large enough to catch that ball. But the dog tries anyway out of fear of not being good enough. The title itself can read as a question from the owner/partner or as a question from the dog. The “dog” in disbelief at how much they are willing to be dehumanized.

When you wanna make a character an omega in your omegaverse fanfic due to story reasons and behaviors that are easy to twist but they also happen to be the character that the fandom feminized so you lowkey look like a jackass since nobody knows your reasoning

I know I’ve been posting a lot about fanfiction here lately (I PROMISE I’M WRITING IT ALL) but I actually also write my own original stories as well. ‘Write’ is loose term I guess, I mostly just develop the plot, world, and characters; no actual like book or whatever

Currently, I’m at the starting point of a story with an emotion based magic system. This is gonna be a whole lot of unintelligible rambling:

Basically the idea is emotions are pieces of our soul that we can feel. People who have the ability to manipulate these pieces are known as mentalists, but they are more commonly called “super-feelers”.

You can tell what emotion a mentalist is tied to through their pupils, for example; a mentalist who manipulates anger will have red pupils. Brighter colored pupils = Stronger mentalist. So someone with neon red pupils would be stronger than someone with maroon pupils (at least at a base level, kinda like how a male can grow muscles easier but a female can still be more muscular than a male, for an example.) This is why ordinary people have black pupils, they have no way to touch the pieces of their soul, so they have no power.

Some people are born mentalists, and some people have an experience where they feel a particular emotion so strongly they become a mentalist. People can be predisposed to being a mentalist and trigger the activation of their abilities easier, requiring a less extreme moment of emotion.

There are two ways to manipulate your emotion; catharsis or cathexis. Catharsis is any style of manipulation that has the magic as an outside force like fire generation and manipulation. Cathexis is any style of manipulation where the magic remains inside the person’s soul or is transferred to another’s soul, like mind reading or healing. It is still considered cathexis if you imbue a soulless object with your emotions, like a sword.

Becoming a mentalist is emotionally-taxing, even if it’s linked to a more positive emotion like happiness. It changes how you behave even if it doesn’t change who you are. Some find this change anxiety inducing.

Imagine being Enjin,

You take in two children. One struggles with suicidal ideation, the other struggles with homicidal ideation. Already, you’re worried both will realize this and make their dreams a reality.

But they don’t, and they manage to become somewhat stable, they are still in need of serious therapy but they’re doing better. They’re like a bonded pair of animals.

Then another kid drops from the sky and he’s like Mentally Ill Child Pro. He wants to commit genocide on his homeland and he genuinely believes that him existing in a space means he’s tainting it. Oh and also, a group of known criminals are constantly after him. He thinks expressing part of his culture means he’s just as bad as the place he came from. He’s the most empathetic kid you’ve ever met in your life, and regularly calls people turdface.

Those two first kids? They’re actually obsessed with you, one of them is so obvious with it and you need to make sure you don’t laugh at him. The other? She’s becoming more like you everyday, she’s slowly becoming even more attached to your hip.

The three of them, all at once? Every single day until the rest of time? They’re making sure you’re fully grey by your next birthday and you’re only 28.

I was listening to Brand New City by Mitski as one does and while listening to the “Honey, look at me, tell me what you took. Tell me what’d you take?” part, I was thinking to myself and was like ‘Wow. This is kind of how singing/vocal arts feels like to me because I love it so much it feels like it took a part of me.’

Which then led me to the realization that if I was a Giver in Gachiakuta, my jinki would be my choir binder. Like loving something so much it takes part of your soul to give it life? Thats me with the vocal arts.

What ability would a choir binder give me? 🤔

Since I’m trying to get the most out of my choir binder through singing as much as possible in my life, throwing myself entirely into my passion. It’d likely be an attacker type jinki (based on Chapter 46).

Maybe each piece of music in the binder gives me a different ability/type of attack? Maybe something like a siren song? Maybe the papers in the binder turn into really sharp rectangle weapons?

I don’t know but it’s fun to think about 🤷

I like to imagine that Zanka got desensitized like a horse when it comes to physical affection, like Enjin and Riyo just bothered him so much that now he doesn’t even think about it.

Riyo will lean on him and side-hug him, Enjin will pat his head or his back. And Zanka will just… not even notice or just not care (except for if that Enjin affection is tied to some praise)

So by the time Rudo comes along Zanka genuinely doesn’t care about Rudo subconsciously leaning on him or standing too close. He just has his cool guy persona like most teenagers do, so he pretends to hate it and uses it to fuel his brotherly anger towards Rudo.

Rudo is the only one who falls for it and thinks Zanka doesn’t like physical affection. Literally everybody else knows better.

Still writing my Gachiakuta omegaverse fic, but here is a excerpt from that in-universe textbook I was talking about, written by Alice Stilza (This is technically the first draft of the textbook, let me know if there’s any typos):

Genital Anatomy

To understand genital anatomy you must first understand the relationship between primary and secondary sex. Primary sex refers to male and female anatomy. It’s come to be understood as our external genitalia, with males being associated with a penis and at times a scrotum. Females being associated with a vulva which always consists of the labia majora, labia minora, and vestibule. The clitoris isn’t always external.

A person will be born a primary sex, although they may be clearly male or female, their secondary sexual characteristics will remain ambiguous until puberty and presentation, this is why, in general, we cannot assume or accept a secondary sex until the first heat, hunt, or rut.

Primary sex is what creates the looks of someone’s genitals once they are fully developed, Secondary sex is the actual functioning of these genitals.

A common question is, “Why not get a doctor to check what your child’s designation is?”, the reason we do not do any form of procedure or scan to check for the physical signs of a designation is because it is deemed medically unnecessary. There is no benefit to these procedures except for satiating the curiosity of impatient guardians. In addition, if the doctor were to find something to point in one direction, it’s near impossible to tell the difference between the anatomy of an Alpha and a Gamma, for example. It’d be hard to find something like that in the first place, the secondary sexual characteristics remain ambiguous before presentation and only begin to finish development during presentation. That’s why pups often complain of cramping, other pains, and exhaustion during presentation. Over all, these procedures are unnecessary and mostly inconclusive. Not to mention, incredibly expensive.

Reproductive Anatomy

This will describe the purpose of the sexual organs. This does not mean, for example, that all Omegas wish to be pregnant. People are people and have their own set of interests regardless of their sex.

Alphas and Gammas

Their reproductive anatomy will always include testes, although, Females and Males will have different placements of said testes. The purpose of Alphan and Gamman reproductive anatomy is to impregnate.

Female Anatomy

The Female Alpha/Gamma will have an internal and elongated clitoris, unlike other human females, this clitoris has a urethral opening that allows for the passage of urine and semen. The testes of females are also internal. When aroused or in rut, the female clitoris will protract from its sheath and become erect. Once erect the female may penetrate their mate. Unlike the male, females do not possess a knot meant to aid insemination. Rather, the female lacks a refractory period and will be able to quickly regain or maintain their erection, aiding insemination through multiple ejaculations. The lack of a knot also provides females the ability to retreat from Omegas who experience Post-Coital Aggression. (See Post-Coital Aggression*)

Male Anatomy

The Male Alpha/Gamma will have a penis and scrotum as external genitalia, the testes are held within the scrotum. The penis of a male has a urethral opening that allows for the passage of urine and semen. When aroused or in rut, the penis will become firm and enlarged. Once erect the male may penetrate their mate. Unlike females, males have a refractory period in which they are unable to ejaculate, this coincides with the knot period. Males have, at the base of their penis, a bulbus glandis, or a ‘knot’. During ejaculation the male’s knot will swell, eventually locking inside their mate. This erectile tissue increases the chances of insemination by helping the semen reach the ovum more efficiently. The knot period can last around a few minutes for some but for others it can take a couple hours. Attempting to remove the knot before it gets fully soft can be painful for the parties involved. The knot also, albeit coincidentally, serves as a line of defense against Omegas who experience Post-Coital Aggression. (See Post-Coital Aggression*)

Betas

Betan reproductive anatomy is split, with the males aiming to impregnate, and the females aiming to get pregnant.

Female Anatomy

The Female Beta will have a vulva as external genitalia and a vagina, uterus and ovaries as internal genitalia. The female has an external clitoris that aids in stimulating arousal during intercourse. Female genitals have glands that produce lubricating fluid, however they do not produce as much fluid as Omegas or Deltas. Once the female has lubricated themself, they can comfortably take part in penetration. The female does not have any built-in reproductive defenses, unlike Omegan and Deltan males and females. It is theorized they did not need this development due to less potential mates and their ability to neutralize pheromones, meaning they’d be able to neutralize the aggressive mating pheromones of mates they don’t wish to accept. Female Betas have a gestation period of 9 months and have around 1-2 pups at a time. Unlike the other designations that can get pregnant, female betas do not reabsorb the uterine lining during their cycle, they instead menstruate. This menstruation happens after their cycle, it is similar to the bleeding that occurs in deltas and omegas before their cycles. However, betas are bleeding the actual lining, deltas and omegas have bloody discharge from the blood swelling in the uterus. Female betas give birth vaginally.

Male Anatomy

The Male Beta will have a penis and scrotum as external genitalia, the testes are held within the scrotum. The penis of a male has a urethral opening that allows for the passage of urine and semen. When aroused, the penis will become firm and enlarged. Once erect the male may penetrate their mate. The male does have a refractory period in which they are unable to ejaculate, but they do not have a knot that keeps them and their mate together. It is theorized that Betan males did not require the development of a knot because of less potential mates, but also because their neutral pheromones would stop mates from becoming aggressive towards them after mating. The most likely reason is that betas did not need a knot because they have a bonding cycle rather than a mating cycle.

Omegas and Deltas

Their reproductive anatomy will include ovaries and a uterus, although, females and males will have different placements of said organs. The purpose of their reproductive anatomy is to become pregnant and carry a pup to term.

Female Anatomy

The Omegan/Deltan Female will have a vulva as external genitalia and a vagina, uterus, and ovaries as internal genitalia. The female has an external hemiclitoris that aids in stimulating arousal during intercourse. There is little to no chance of impregnating an unwilling female, as within the vaginal canal the female has barbed protuberances that point downwards. Meaning if someone is attempting to penetrate the female and they are not willing or aroused, these barbs will harm the aggressor. The barbs also serve to slow down and catch sperm if the aggressor manages to ejaculate. When the hemiclitoris is stimulated or the female is in someway willing or aroused, these barbed protuberances will retract and allow for penetration. Females produce large amounts of slick in their vaginal canal when aroused. The female is not able to produce slick in their anal passage, their rectum is biologically only for excretion. Omegan and Deltan females have a gestation period of 9 months and have around 1-3 pups at a time. They give birth vaginally.

Male Anatomy

The Omegan/Deltan Male will have a penis as external genitalia, and may or may not also have a scrotum. Them having a scrotum does not allow them to produce sperm. The penis has a urethral opening that allows for passage of urine. For internal anatomy, the male omega has a sort of pseudo-cloaca. The penis of a male is typically the smallest of all the designations, and isn’t typically meant to use for penetration. The penis is meant to aid in stimulating arousal during intercourse. There is little to no chance of impregnating an unwilling male, as the pseudo-cloaca will only open once the male is aroused or willing. A second line of defense for the male, who possesses no barbs unlike females, is their ability to produce boiling hot slick. By producing hotter slick, they can burn or deter their aggressor but they can also harm themselves which makes this method a last resort. The hot slick also serves to kill sperm if the aggressor manages to ejaculate. When the penis is stimulated or the male is in someway willing or aroused, the pseudo-cloaca will open. We refer to the hemianus as a pseudo-cloaca due to the fact that it functions as a regular anus until presentation, when one anus loses connection to the digestive system and fully connects with the cloacal flap and uterus. When aroused the reproductive anus will dilate, pushing back the rectum or as it’s also called; excretory anus. This somewhat closes the rectum and reveals the reproductive opening, which is normally hidden and pushed shut by the rectum. Once open, impregnation can occur, and their slick will be of regular temperature. Males produce large amounts of slick in their hemianus when aroused. Males have a gestation period of 9 months and have about 1 pup at a time. They give birth through their reproductive anus. To clarify, as this is a common question, Male Omega’s do have two holes placed between the buttocks. The reproductive opening is typically pushed shut by the rectum due to how close they are, giving the look of only one hole. The hemianus has many different names, typically doctors refer to both holes with hemianus. Calling one the reproductive anus and the other the excretory anus.

Enigmas

Although not recognized as an official sex, it’s important to educate children on the possibility of becoming an enigma. Enigmas are anybody who has not had their secondary sex fully develop by the age of 16, or anybody whose sexual anatomy does not fit in the typical boxes. This can be caused by a number of conditions, genetics, heavy exposure to pollution, and more. Enigmas can have any mismatch of anatomy, but they more often than not are fully infertile.

The hemiclitoris was based off of female snakes, the hemianus as far as I know does not exist. I made that up. (Also the reason I’m not calling it an anus and and vagina is because I imagine it to be made up of different tissues and well it was connected to the digestive track at one point, vagina just doesn’t quite fit it.)

Soo… I’ve been working on all those fics I was talking about BUT I’ve also started working on a omegaverse AU for Gachiakuta. I say AU instead of fic because, well that’s technically what it is, but also because aside from the main fic — which will be multi-chaptered— I’ll probably post short prequel stories and other stuff to do with it.

So in preparation and also coinciding with me writing some first drafts, I’ve begun to make two guides to explain some of my omegaverse worldbuilding.

One is meant to be an in-universe textbook written by Alice Stilza called “Secondary Sex and You” the premise is that she wasn’t satisfied with any of the current textbooks so she wrote her own. For me, the one actually writing it, it’s so I can explain how secondary sex works in my version of omegaverse, because it does stray a little from the typical. I have 5 secondary sexes instead of three, and jinki’s have their own secondary sexes…in a way. It’s more like the jinki is the “inner wolf” that happens in some omegaverse stories. But like, for example, Zanka is an Omega and Lovely Assistaff is Alphan. She amplifies Zanka’s Omegan instincts but she goes about it in a way that is more typical for an Alpha, so Zanka acts more “like an Alpha”.

The second guide isn’t anything in universe, it’s just an actual character guide where I tell you what the character’s designation and scent is, maybe a little blurb on why I did it that way and some small details. To clear any confusion or just to satiate some curiosity.

And yes EVERY SINGLE character will be getting one of these, in alphabetical order. (Probably no Background Character #2 though) I love making unnecessary work for myself. Also this isn’t the finished thing, Amo’s is very much unfinished.

A short excerpt from one of my many first drafts:

“No matter what way Riyo looked at it, Rudo was unusual, a total enigma. He seemed to be a good kid as far as she’d seen —of course she’d still keep watch as he settled into the pack— but one thing she still couldn’t wrap her head around was none other than Rudo’s secondary sex. Something like that wouldn’t normally matter to Riyo, or really anyone in the Cleaners aside from Eishia and Semiu. Eishia being a doctor and Semiu because she deals with people’s cycles when they have take temporary leave or when it makes them cause a ruckus in the HQ. Something Riyo was guilty of when she first came to HQ.

So since Riyo couldn’t wrap her head around it, it was time to bump brains with her pack,

“Mini-Akuta meeting!” She called, swinging Enjin’s door open, the man jumped at the sudden intrusion. Pulling Zanka in with her by her strong grip on the back of his shirt.

“Ya dragged me all da way here fer a stupid meetin’?!” Zanka grumbled, still wiping the sleep out of his eyes.

“You know, for how many years you’ve been here, I’m still not use to how heavy your accent is when you wake up,” she released Zanka’s shirt, getting a running start to leaping on Enjin’s bed.

“Riyo!” She heard Enjin shriek as she landed hard on top of him, “Damn your skinny elbows..!” He groaned.

She giggled and rolled around for a second, taking in Enjin’s scent. She’d never tell him, but his scent was by far her favorite, the scent of petrichor called to mind the feeling of a nice day off due to bad weather.

“What’s this ‘bout, Riyo? And why’s it so hot in your room, Enjin!” Zanka crossed his arms, standing at the edge of the bed.

“Oh! It’s about the new kid,” she laid her legs across Enjin, “I’m totally stumped on his secondary sex!”

“Huh?! You woke me up for something like that,” Enjin whisper shouted, it’s night after all, “and I’ve told you before, you wear too many layers to bed, Zanka!”

“Zanka’s pajamas aside, Isn’t it weird Rudo doesn’t have any scent? I got a good whiff of him in the van while playing with his cool hair, and there was like nothing,” Riyo twirled her hair.

“I thought the scuzz was wearin’ scent blockers?” Zanka sat on the bed.

“Nah. Remember, I took him to Alice’s after I found him. I would’ve seen any patches and she woulda told me if he took any pills.” Enjin stared up at the ceiling from his bed, unable to move underneath the prison of Riyo.

“For real?! That brat gets weirder by the second!” Zanka seemed to consider something before returning to a more neutral expression, “Aside from the scentless thing, I noticed the kid’s canines were filed down, just the bottom set though…maybe that means he’s.. ya know,” Zanka’s eyebrows furrowed.

Riyo’s face tightened for a moment, Zanka was an omega. Normally that wouldn’t really mean anything other than “Hey, you just presented and all the sudden you can get pregnant!” or “Happy day, because your an omega you’re like 10x more likely to get harassed!” but for Zanka, being born a Nijiku, it meant more than that. Riyo didn’t have the full story but, after he presented, his family was determined to marry him off to produce heirs. At some point in that process, they rounded down Zanka’s canines, claiming potential mates preferred a softer look. It made her sick to think about.

“Riyo? You good?” Enjin lifted his knee to get her attention.

“Huh? Yeah, why?” Riyo questioned.

Some Development Trivia because I want to share more about this but it’s not ready to be posted yet, everything is subject to change but currently this is all true to my fic:

Character Designations

(remember I have 5 secondary sexes in this story; Alphas, Gammas, Betas, Deltas, and Omegas. Gammas and Deltas are also referred to as Beta-A and Beta-O, respectively. They are technically subtypes of Betas. Basically, Gammas are a mixture of Alphas and Betas, they take a role of “Alpha Attendant” kind of like a Queen Bee and her attendants. Deltas are like Gammas but instead of relating to Alphas, they relate to Omegas and are “Omega Attendants”, obviously this doesn’t mean that’s all they are, but it’s their instincts.)

(Second note: a person’s jinki takes apart of their soul and with their soul it takes their instincts and amplifies them, however, it is possible for a jinki to “present” as something different than their Giver. For example, an Alpha becomes a giver, their jinki takes in their alphan instincts but suddenly the alpha begins to give into urge they never had. Urges like, checking on pups, collecting scented items, and maybe even building a nest. Their jinki has caused them to go through a ‘pseudo-presentation’ as an omega, their biology does not change at all, they just have the addition of Omegan behaviors because their jinki is an omega. However, these instincts are still theirs, nothing the jinki makes them do is something they wouldn’t have already done. It’s just harder to resist it now that it’s been given a voice. Jinkis don’t have a scent, instead they give off a sound that only other givers can hear, however non-givers can hear it a little if the jinki is reacting strongly to something. Jinkis can communicate to one another via these sounds.)

Cleaners

(Minus Epalte and Otto Adderoy, Shikage, Mildretta, and Meriege. I haven’t gotten anything solid about these guys down yet.)

Amo Empool

Starts story off as an Unpresented pup, presents as an Alpha. Her boots are Alphan, they made her go through a pseudo-presentation before she actually presented. Her pup scent was buttermilk, but her scent post-presentation is a desert landscape. Her jinki’s sound is tapping. She was a late-bloomer due to stress.

Arkha Corvus

A big mystery, no one knows what his designation is. Since they don’t know what his jinki is either, no one knows what his jinki’s designation or sound is. His scent is a little less of a mystery, coffee beans. Though, it stays neutral, never emoting with him. He might just really like coffee.

August Stilza

A beta just like his sister. Smells of cloth and mineral oil, he says he smells like a sewing machine. Him and Eishia’s scent share some notes, when they’re distressed or upset they smell like an electrical fire.

Bro Santa

One of about three omegas at Cleaners HQ. I’m not set on a scent for this guy yet. His jinki is also an omega and has the sound of cloth fluttering in the wind. I was debating giving him a scent like gasoline or maybe a jar of cookies or like maybe baby powder. I don’t know.

Dear Santa

Unpresented Pup, every pup has a lactonic scent. His is the scent of cream. His scent changes with his emotions just like everyone else, however instead of souring when he’s upset or getting sweeter when happy like most pups, his scent changes to a different type of cream. His jinki is Alphan and has the sound of grinding. Like other pups, his scent is very faint as pups are meant to be scented by their guardians, so he frequently smells like Bro Santa and sometimes Guita.

Delmon Gates

One of about three omegas at Cleaners HQ. He smells like healthy compost, with notes of rain and leaves. His scent has the addition of flowers, this is from his mating mark left by his Alphan wife. The mating mark allows for mates to “inject” some of their pheromones into their partner’s scent gland, allowing their scents to mix more permanently. His jinki is Deltan (Beta-O) and has the sound of dripping. He’s also one of the few people in the Cleaners with a mating mark.

Eishia Stiliza

A beta just like her brother. She has a rather strong scent of ozone. Her scent shares some notes with her brother’s, they both smell like electrical fires when distressed or upset. Her jinki is also Betan and has the sound of crackling.

Enjin

An alpha with the scent of petrichor, a mixture of soil and rain. Umbreaker is omegan and has the sound of rumbling. Enjin is often carrying out the whims of Umbreaker, he finds it easier to just give in to it than just ignore it.

Follo Tunito

A Delta (Beta-O) with the scent of snow covered cloth. People tend to be tricked by his scent, often assuming the negative notes of his scent to be positive as his most negative scent is sun-dried cloth. The more positive he is feeling the “colder” his scent gets, as his mood decreases it gets warmer. His jinki’s designation is unpresented, giving him some pup instincts. This does not mean he is childish, pups have certain instincts that they follow that have nothing to do with being immature. His hammer has the sound of knocking.

Fu Orostor

Despite his demeanor, he’s an alpha with an alphan jinki. People tend to think he’s a Gamma due to his behavior. I’m not set on his scent yet, but I was thinking of Fur and/or Wood. Hii has the sound of chittering to everyone else, Fu just hears his voice.

Gris Rubion

A Betan supporter, leader of the Supporter’s sub-pack. Gris is a little superstitious so my first thought for his scent was sterling silver (you know like how silver can be used to ward of vampires and werewolves) then I thought of frankincense due to it’s religious ties. I haven’t decided which I’m going with yet. I also briefly entertained the idea of ambergris just because his name was in there.

Guita Hebby Fantasia

An alphan pup with an unpresented jinki. Her scent is one I haven’t fully nailed down yet, all I have written as options is Running River, Pebbles and Scales. Still considering those options. While in the midst of her presentation she bit Zanka who had freshly arrived at HQ in a drop, before Bro could scold her for biting him and figure out if she had bitten him because he was an omega, Zanka bit her back. His teeth didn’t do as much damage as they could’ve due to his rounded canines. The only reason he bit her was because he was going through an alphan pseudo-presentation due to Lovely Assistaff, who hadn’t been named yet at the time. They both got in trouble. Guita now respects Zanka and stops acting up while he’s nearby. Her jinki makes a quiet growling sound.

Riyo Reaper

A gamma with an equally gamman jinki. She has the scent of bone, although her scent mostly shines in how much it changes with her emotions, but she knows how to keep them under control. She use to wear scent patches everyday, but since joining the Cleaners and changing her ways, she has taken to only wearing them during jobs, claiming she doesn’t want to bother people with the nastier parts of her scent if she loses her cool. Her jinki has the sound of clinking.

Rudo Surebrec

A late-bloomer who is still an unpresented pup with seemingly no signs of presenting. Allegedly. How does secondary sex work on the sphere? Is it the same? Does he have Scent Loss like Tamsy? What’s he hiding? And why? 3R is strangely quiet, refusing to answer the call of the other jinkis.

Semiu Grier

A Delta with a Betan jinki. Semiu’s scent is that of pollen and rather than creating a more rotten scent when she is upset or angry, her pheromones replicate the feeling of irritation that pollen can sometimes cause. Due to her Deltan instincts, she tries to take care of Zanka, Riyo, and Rudo during her cycle, as her jinki recognizes that Umbreaker is an omega and has declared Enjin as an omega by proxy. She finds it annoying that Enjin’s stray collector tendencies have managed to affect her instincts. Her jinki makes a soft chiming sound.

Tamsy Caines

A beta with Scent Loss, and a jinki with an unknown designation. When questioned about his lack of scent and instinctual behaviors, Tamsy informed the Cleaners that he had Scent Loss, meaning he could not produce or recognize any pheromones. He added that it messed with his instincts as well. Delmon was particularly upset that his packmate had such an affliction, and assured Tamsy he’d treat him just how he treats the rest of the pack. A kind statement, but one misguided. Due to hailing from the city of The Sphere, Tamsy does not actually have a secondary sex, and his jinki is sexless as well as it cannot take from a part of the soul that does not exist.

Tomme Mima

A gamma supporter with the scent of wine. When she was younger, her parents tried to convince themselves and others that her scent was actually grapes, but everyone involved knew the truth. They constantly assume she’s completely addicted to alcohol.

Zanka Nijiku

One of about three omegas in HQ, with an alphan jinki. He has the scent of incense and his jinki’s sound is humming. Zanka’s canines were rounded down by his family after he presented as part of “Omegan Etiquette” lessons he was forced into, they also regularly cut his claws as low as they could go to “impress potential mates”. He has since grown back his claws, but he can’t do much about his canines. Enjin and Riyo built his first nest at HQ for him since he was in a drop couldn’t do it himself, the nest wasn’t very good but the gesture was appreciated.

Soo… I’ve been working on all those fics I was talking about BUT I’ve also started working on a omegaverse AU for Gachiakuta. I say AU instead of fic because, well that’s technically what it is, but also because aside from the main fic — which will be multi-chaptered— I’ll probably post short prequel stories and other stuff to do with it.

So in preparation and also coinciding with me writing some first drafts, I’ve begun to make two guides to explain some of my omegaverse worldbuilding.

One is meant to be an in-universe textbook written by Alice Stilza called “Secondary Sex and You” the premise is that she wasn’t satisfied with any of the current textbooks so she wrote her own. For me, the one actually writing it, it’s so I can explain how secondary sex works in my version of omegaverse, because it does stray a little from the typical. I have 5 secondary sexes instead of three, and jinki’s have their own secondary sexes…in a way. It’s more like the jinki is the “inner wolf” that happens in some omegaverse stories. But like, for example, Zanka is an Omega and Lovely Assistaff is Alphan. She amplifies Zanka’s Omegan instincts but she goes about it in a way that is more typical for an Alpha, so Zanka acts more “like an Alpha”.

The second guide isn’t anything in universe, it’s just an actual character guide where I tell you what the character’s designation and scent is, maybe a little blurb on why I did it that way and some small details. To clear any confusion or just to satiate some curiosity.

And yes EVERY SINGLE character will be getting one of these, in alphabetical order. (Probably no Background Character #2 though) I love making unnecessary work for myself. Also this isn’t the finished thing, Amo’s is very much unfinished.

A short excerpt from one of my many first drafts:

“No matter what way Riyo looked at it, Rudo was unusual, a total enigma. He seemed to be a good kid as far as she’d seen —of course she’d still keep watch as he settled into the pack— but one thing she still couldn’t wrap her head around was none other than Rudo’s secondary sex. Something like that wouldn’t normally matter to Riyo, or really anyone in the Cleaners aside from Eishia and Semiu. Eishia being a doctor and Semiu because she deals with people’s cycles when they have take temporary leave or when it makes them cause a ruckus in the HQ. Something Riyo was guilty of when she first came to HQ.

So since Riyo couldn’t wrap her head around it, it was time to bump brains with her pack,

“Mini-Akuta meeting!” She called, swinging Enjin’s door open, the man jumped at the sudden intrusion. Pulling Zanka in with her by her strong grip on the back of his shirt.

“Ya dragged me all da way here fer a stupid meetin’?!” Zanka grumbled, still wiping the sleep out of his eyes.

“You know, for how many years you’ve been here, I’m still not use to how heavy your accent is when you wake up,” she released Zanka’s shirt, getting a running start to leaping on Enjin’s bed.

“Riyo!” She heard Enjin shriek as she landed hard on top of him, “Damn your skinny elbows..!” He groaned.

She giggled and rolled around for a second, taking in Enjin’s scent. She’d never tell him, but his scent was by far her favorite, the scent of petrichor called to mind the feeling of a nice day off due to bad weather.

“What’s this ‘bout, Riyo? And why’s it so hot in your room, Enjin!” Zanka crossed his arms, standing at the edge of the bed.

“Oh! It’s about the new kid,” she laid her legs across Enjin, “I’m totally stumped on his secondary sex!”

“Huh?! You woke me up for something like that,” Enjin whisper shouted, it’s night after all, “and I’ve told you before, you wear too many layers to bed, Zanka!”

“Zanka’s pajamas aside, Isn’t it weird Rudo doesn’t have any scent? I got a good whiff of him in the van while playing with his cool hair, and there was like nothing,” Riyo twirled her hair.

“I thought the scuzz was wearin’ scent blockers?” Zanka sat on the bed.

“Nah. Remember, I took him to Alice’s after I found him. I would’ve seen any patches and she woulda told me if he took any pills.” Enjin stared up at the ceiling from his bed, unable to move underneath the prison of Riyo.

“For real?! That brat gets weirder by the second!” Zanka seemed to consider something before returning to a more neutral expression, “Aside from the scentless thing, I noticed the kid’s canines were filed down, just the bottom set though…maybe that means he’s.. ya know,” Zanka’s eyebrows furrowed.

Riyo’s face tightened for a moment, Zanka was an omega. Normally that wouldn’t really mean anything other than “Hey, you just presented and all the sudden you can get pregnant!” or “Happy day, because your an omega you’re like 10x more likely to get harassed!” but for Zanka, being born a Nijiku, it meant more than that. Riyo didn’t have the full story but, after he presented, his family was determined to marry him off to produce heirs. At some point in that process, they rounded down Zanka’s canines, claiming potential mates preferred a softer look. It made her sick to think about.

“Riyo? You good?” Enjin lifted his knee to get her attention.

“Huh? Yeah, why?” Riyo questioned.
