Thank you Warn<3 You understand!!! The way people haven’t been understanding why Shion looks the way she does has been frustrating me to no end. I hate when people call her ‘Gooner Slop’ but she literally isn’t even that. #dont get me wrong#i love me a masc Kara#but i feel like often times it turns to flatten her out a bit and some parts of her are lost

Yes!!! I think it also kind of flattens her dynamic with Lena.

Kara’s Supergirl persona tends to erase her feminine mannerisms (and her goofy ones, etc) in a way that seems intentional, especially since she lets it drop with those she trusts (eg Alex at the DEO). There’s a palpable shift in S6 when she starts letting Lena see her normal self even when she’s wearing the cape.

That gets lost when her feminine attributes get ignored 🥺

Exactly! I mean she is full of many contradictions built from years of trouma, defense mechanism and trying to adopt on an alien planet where she is never allowed to be herself, which is why i also think that many of her small mannerism, action and fashion choices are where she let herself shine the brightest as herself.

And I also love the shift between SG persona and Kara and the way she sort of presents herself as each, but that's the beauty, she contian multitude and in many ways she is still sort of looking for herself. Actually, I think she only truly began this journey once she was able to be completely open with the closest people in her life (Ahm*Lena*Ahm).

But yeah, I just personally think that Kara’s femininity is a core part of who she is along with her masc side. She is a complex alien, and I love her for it😌
