mv x er ask. Just a thought. Butcher would 100% be a bloody finger of some kind. Like I don't think he's the type to have any stake with a group like Rykard's lot or under Mohg like Varre. At least not outside of business. But blood worship and theatrics does seem right up his alley in his very simple, self serving ways. I would not be surprised if he does commune with the "Mother of Truth" through his own ways or some other Outer God. Thoughts?

oh ABSOLUTELY 100% you are so right. i don't remember if i've posted anything abt the misc other characters i've been thinking abt yet but YES the butcher as a bloody finger—i could see him joining up with mohg or mmaybe rykard, not for like, ideological reasons, but purely bc it facilitates him getting targets, for similar reasons as him being a contract killer in canon. (actually the "contract killer" thing might make him a good fit for the recusants, now that i think about it. hmm)

yeah though i'm not sure how much he'd go in for any kind of outer god worship but given the formless mother's whole deal, i def wouldn't be surprised if he at least had a sort of like... contractual worship thing going on with her, viewing her as like, a patron, who lets him do blood magic just for doing the things he was already doing anyway.

...actually given noel's involvement with him in canon i wonder if this doesn't point to him being a bloody finger hunter, in a similar vein to yura. or he's trying to bring down volcano manor, if the butcher does sign on with them. maybe he has suspicions that at some point praetor rykard has gone from "unfortunate methods to pursue a noble goal" to "okay you're just straight up hunting good people down and taking them in pretty much indiscriminately, something's not right here." idk. just thinking out loud

otoh, someone who i actually do think is a very integrated part of the mohgwyn dynasty is LARSON. first of all, ritual sacrifice to an outer god, check. secondly, i think the aesthetics of specifically sacrificing a child to something known as "the mother" is fun. thirdly, uncle is like, 100% an omen. right.
