A Chance Meeting (DAWN)
Waking in this world felt akin to being pulled from a pleasant dream. There was some comforting aura to gently coax Zidane from his restful state, the depth if which was perhaps warranted when summoned from another realm altogether. The kiss of a light breeze and the scent of the field earned a blissful sigh of rest, blue eyes blinking in the face of sunlight through the canopy of trees above.
After a moment, Zidane pushes himself up onto his hand and knows instinctively that he’s been summoned once more. This place, while unfamiliar to his person, felt as though a far distant memory; a construct he’d traversed in the past. It was always a worry to be drawn to this place; for he’d left behind those he cared about most, all for the sake of a divine competition that a lowly thief ought not to meddle with.
Despite his reservations, Zidane stood from his bed of grass and patted off stray blades to look around. If he were here, no doubt the others he’d met before would also be there. Now however, something was different...
Maybe he would address that some other time. For now, strolling out into the field before him, Zidane breathed in the crisp, flower-rich scent of the air and eventually took his first brisk steps into the unknown in search of anyone.
With any luck, he’d meet a friend first, and his enemies later.
