“Mason?” Astrid called out as she stepped into the house, holding hands with the little wolf. Astrid had explained everything to Mason on the phone yesterday, she even told him how she was calling the girl Alice in wonderland, simply because the girl couldn’t yet remember her name - and wouldn’t until the remaining vampire was killed. When he came in her eye line, Astrid sucked in a deep breath and thinned her lips into a smile. It was fair to say Astrid was a little nervous, maybe Mason would think she was absolutely nuts for telling him that she had zero intentions of letting this little girl go to another family? How could another family possibly understand her like she could? And deep down, honestly? The hybrid was in her element - being the mothering type, she had always wanted children of her own. That wasn’t possible now, of course, but somehow, to Astrid, this felt like fate giving her a chance at being close enough. “Mason, this is Alice...” Stepping to the side, she looked down and nodded to the girl, who slowly left go of her and stepped towards him. The girl was nervous and cautious, but she trusted Astrid, who had assured her that Mason was safe people, so she walked up to him and peered up with her little doe eyes. “Hello,“ her little hands were shaking, but she slowly lifted them up for him to take. “Astrid says you are like us, that you are safe people” her voice was tiny and you could see in her whole being she was incredibly nervous, which only served to make Astrid suck in a breath, actually very proud that the girl was brave enough to do this, knowing, she was doing it simply because Astrid had assured her Mason was, as she would say, ‘safe people’. @masonduval
