New Base
Been working on making a new base for myself since my old one was kinda awkward. (New Base photos then Old Base photos)
The pains of building in survival sometimes, halls were twisting, layouts made no sense, and goodness do I hate thin staircases with a passion now. The build wasn't villager friendly either, which is a problem since I live with several MCA Reborn villagers.
There's still detail work to be done, but It's at a point where I'm ready to tear down the old place and build anew. I've even decorated a few rooms just to get an idea of what it'll look like. Especially with some of my old furnishings in their respective rooms.
Like the library, it used to be this tiny thing with just enough storage for a few books. But thanks to my journal keeping and all the lore books I've been finding, a grander library was necessary. Even built a small loft area for more quiet reading.
Then there's one of my son's rooms. He's an MCA Reborn villager and works as a mason. Thus, when I first decorated his room, I made it full of pots and other artsy decor. I pretty much copied over every single item that was already there, as well as some new furnishings to fill up the gaps.
I'm pretty sure I've posted about redoing the kitchen before, but now I've redone it a second time. Yaaaaay... Always proud of old work till you redo it. Regardless, it's a lot cleaner than before. Originally I kinda liked having things on shelves displayed, but now I'm really enjoying the neat orderly vibes I've got going on here.
Even got a spot to serve food from for those bigger occasions.
Nothing much to say about the bathrooms, they aren't really that much different other than shape and a few accessories.
Here's some rooms and features I liked. An enclosed balcony, the window placements in the future dining room, and one of two elytra landing pads. The other one's got a purple curtain, it's for another one of my MCA Reborn sons. Lore reasons.
And finally some extra house angles.
Surprisingly enough, there's only one rule I had when making this and it's that: no trees can be chopped down. So this base fits almost perfectly in the old bases footprint. Maybe only 2 blocks larger in any direction, but man that little bit adds to a lot.
In total the build consists of three houses, and has been extensively tested for villager friendliness. Though, I bet there'll be a villager who gets lost the first night. I'll have to modify for that as I go.
(So many mods... if you're curious about specific blocks just ask)
