@overlordzeffeero tagged me on this challenge (thanks for that, btw💕), and I definitely wanted to try it with both my girls Harumi and Bo II!

I wanted to do this one sooner, but I didn't want to leave Haruki's spot blank, so now that I have a somewhat acceptable drawing of him: LET'S GOOOOOOOO!

Harumi Shirai | Hummingbird/Scorpion:

Appearance:

For most of her youth, Harumi could be described as a carbon copy of Haruki, but as she grew up, she started to show some features that were unmistakably Amaya's!

The insanely long hair came from both her parents, though it was her father who taught her to braid her hair! Oh, and the pixie cut she has in the Umgadi Girls AU came from the rebellious urge to feel more unique!

Personality:

That one is entirely her own, lmao! Her parents have no idea where that over-friendliness comes from, as neither of them can be considered overly friendly (Haruki can hardly be described as friendly)!

Amaya is more open-minded and accepting than Haruki, so you can say Harumi got that from her, though Harumi is much more intense!

They believe her calmness comes from her mentor and old ally of the clan, Nightwolf from the Matoka Tribe!

The perfectionism is entirely Harumi's, lol!

Emotional Expression:

Amaya is temperamental and explosive (now more tamed by age), and Haruki is the absolute opposite (which always drove Amaya mad)!

Harumi is usually none of those things and expresses herself in a very personal way, but anger can get the worst of her if she lets it, and that definitely came from her mom!

Intelligence or Talent:

Amaya taught her daughter everything she needed to know about herbalism and leadership, and helped her figure out as much as she could about her Shirai Gift (through books and old tales, as Amaya herself doesn't posses this power)!

Harumi's fighting style is also heavily inspired by Amaya's, though she adopted some of her father's moves!

Emotional Closeness:

She's close to both but leans more towards her mother, especially cause she spends more time with her!

Most Influenced By:

Harumi is meant to take her mother's role as Grandmistress and Head Healer and she's also the last wielder of the long lost Shirai Gift, so she's heavily influenced not only by Amaya but the entirely Shirai legacy!

Harumi makes sure to learn all she can from her father's family and culture (he came from an indigenous village hidden in the mountains) but of course that side of her heritage ends up not being as present in her everyday life (and Haruki deeply resents Amaya for that)

Also, her being highly pro divorce and never insisting on a doomed relationship was definitely something influenced by her parents (specifically, the fact that it took them ages to finally get the divorce for their doomed relationship)

Bo II | Sektor:

Appearance:

Bo got the "look like the parent they like the least" curse :P

Personality:

She's got that Madam Bo sassyness, but her personality is mostly her own, specially the stubbornness!

Emotional Expression:

She mostly expresses herself through sarcasm and an apparent aloofness, which she inherited from her mom (her father hated that about both)!

Intelligence or Talent:

Oniro was the master armourer, and Madam Bo is the fighter, and while Bo got both the fighting and armouring skills, she most definitely takes after her father by being a better armourer!

After losing her leg, her focus shifted almost entirely to armouring. She became a much better armourer than her father ever was!

Emotional Closeness:

She didn't want to be emotionally close to her mom and her father didn't want to be emotionally close to her, so she ended up being close to her brother, Longwei (until he ruined it).

Most Influenced By:

Evil man did not want anything to do with his daughter but made sure to control and manipulate every aspect of her life :')

Bo is basically in an Azula situation where she thinks the parent that enables her worst traits is the one that actually loves her while the one that imposes boundaries doesn't (unfortunately for her, she's in the Azula situation but getting the Zuko treatment💀)

The environment she grew up in never gave her much room to be "her own person" and for most her life she tried to be the person her father wanted her to be. It was only when that proved to be impossible that she gave up and tried to be more like herself, but she's still figuring who "herself" is supposed to be! The only part of her she knows is "her own" is the dedicated warrior that does everything she can to put other disable warriors back on the field!

assorted arts of my most recent DnD player character haruki. what can i say i am only honry or depressed there is only two emotions.

Meanwhile I sit here with thoughts on Haruki, a close friend of Teru’s and Kyo’s who died, except also not. It’s complicated.

Haruki was a pokemon trainer in life who was close to Kyo, Teru and Hiroshi in particular. Like the other three, he was caught up in The Incident that gave Kyo and Teru their powers, and like they did for each other, Haruki was thought to be dead.

And he kinda is... and isn’t...

Whereas the goal for Teru was to try to make a human become the burst form/pokemorph of missingno, and the goal for Kyo was to make a human become a burst/pokemorph of a ditto (the reasoning of which Kyo weaponized, but the debates of its purpose still haunting him to this day of the what-ifs), the plan for Haruki was somewhere between wanting to harness a giratina to control using resources taken from Team Galactic, and further research in regards to another target: a mysterious pokemon of terrifying power under an innocent façade, said to have stood beside a Kalosian king and cheated death once before, only to carry with it a flower that seldom grows in the modern day.

The end result was a hybridized mess compromising the two extremes: An alraune who heralds his coming and going between the spirit and mortal plane with the once-thought-lost yvellium eternalilies (or simply “eternal flower” for short). 

For what few saw of the wayward spirit, the expectation was he’d lure unsuspecting people to their deaths, or to lead them astray into the spirit or distorted worlds. In reality, much like the survivors of The Incident, he (accidentally or otherwise) used his newfound powers to escape detection and to flee with his life, assuming otherwise that the friends he knew were all killed in one fell swoop. 

In a time Teru and Kyo not only reunited, but long since came to terms Haruki was all but lost, he reunites with them once more and aids them on their ongoing goal to avenge the less fortunate lives lost to The Incident among other similar occurrences across the multiple worlds. In the meantime, for one constructed in part from powers that held very destructive histories of their own, he uses his powers instead to tune well with lost spirits or empathize with ghost types in ways far beyond his original reach.

Had he managed well with the newfound challenge his life thrusted on him like Teru or Kyo? Or had he been cursed with a live worse than a true death? Regardless, he seems to hold himself high and is as calm and curious as Teru and Kyo remembered him.

In other words, Teru and Kyo can have a once lost friend back. As a treat. And also cuz I’m fickle.
