“Right, so...some ground rules need to be reestablished. Since the party, I mean.” In his mind it was The Party, with the impact of an extinction event.
“Just here to scope things out, or are you considering joining?” John kept his tone casual, his smile friendly, as he approached the witch.

“Thank you, again, for singing. It really was beautiful.”

With an irritated huff, Bertie let the tie hang lose. This one just wasn’t cooperating, apparently. He was about to give up on it when another student walked past. “You wouldn’t happen to be a tie expert, would you?”

“Good news, for once,” Tristan commented as he read the paper the other woman had. He wasn’t sure if she was actually reading it, however, because it wasn’t a full paper and with as crumbled and dirty as it was, Tristan could easily believe that perhaps she was simply picking up trash. If so, he applauded her for it because not enough people cared about the environment in his opinion.
Catching sight of one of the pictures on the page, Tristan thought he recognized the man, although he wasn’t sure. He didn’t know him personally, at least. “Gilderoy Lockhart.” He read off. Found with Mafalda Hopkirk. It was nice to know not every story ended in death. “You know him?” @pandorakane
Back at Hogwarts, Maura had never been the biggest fan of Peeves and had found her a fan of the Bloody Baron for being able to keep him in hand. She understood what it was like to have someone going around always causing trouble and making messes that you needed to clean up after, so she empathized with Filch in that regard, she understood his hatred towards a being he was stuck with and wasn't allowed to deal with. Therefore, despite all the problems that had suddenly descended upon the Halloween festival, the one she was most upset about was the damn poltergeist.
"Would you stop it?" She yelled as she watched a poltergeist through all the gourds, destroying them and smashing the decorated faces some of them wore in a way that made her blood boil. It wasn't nice when you worked hard on something and then someone else destroyed your things.
"I said stop it! Leave her alone!" Maura yelled again as the poltergeist kept it up, going from tossing the gourds haphazardly to aiming them at a young woman. Wand coming out and up, Maura sent one gourd flying backwards to crash into a second, the two colliding with enough force that they broke apart and bits of rind came raining down.
“Are you okay?” @pandorakane
