I have SO much to say about the apology scenes in lady Francis Carfax

Them both trying to apologize at the same time is adorable. They really care for each other. Mariana def had to step in there lol

John finally is able to voice his opinions about the case and his feelings and Sherlock has had time to stew on it all; realizing his own mistakes.

This could've been the only apology Sherlock gave John and John would be fine with it since he knows how hard it is for Sherlock to talk about these things. Offering another form of reconciliation (high five and a hug) brings me to tears because of how well John accommodates him. I wish someone would do this for me ugh </3

But of course it being Sherlock, it's not enough. He felt like it still wasn't right with just that. So he spent the whole flight thinking of how to make it up to John, to show him how much he truly appreciates and cares for him. How sorry he is and especially how proud. These aren't things he's able to articulate often.

I also present my unedited thoughts:

“The VOICE NOTE awwh he listened to him! He did what he asked (communicating better)

AND he gave a fully proper apology. Watson dismissed it since he knows when Sherlock says he's sorry, he means it. But to Sherlock it wasn't right at all. Sorry didn't feel just to him for what he had said to John. "I'm sorry, VERY sorry."

It makes sense that Sherls was taking his frustration in himself out on others (something I've done) He loves John so much. Regardless of shipping or not (which I do) their relationship is something SO special.

This fully resolves it on John's side too. No feeling bitter for a bad apology (I don't think he'd actually resent Sherlock, he was gonna be fine regardless) and instead feeling positive that Sherlock truly believes in him. He is valuable and he is loved and he loves Sherlock too. "Watson can't stop smiling" is an action in the script omg
