I was trying out some new target training with Sakura, when she was so focused on the game/food that when she lost her balance she fell. She was actively hunting, so I caught her with my sleeve, and she mistakenly grabbed that. Poor girl had a mouthful of salmon making my sleeve taste like prey too! She's not mean, or bad, she was following the rules and then did what she thought she was supposed to. She was convinced she caught the mother of all prey.

Obviously I wasn't hurt, my biggest worry was her not hurting her frail little teeth or mouth, so, with no one in any actual danger I took some photos of her being adorable. I mean fierce. Fierce and terrifying! But honestly? I know some people are afraid of their snakes biting them.

Maybe having some photos of cute snake bites to look at might help those folks out there be less afraid.

She's just a snake. Doing snake instinct things. And when you know your hognose they're pretty predictable. They're just cute goofy goobers.

genuinely looks like she's having a bad day. her going to the locker room with caroline causes me to believe that she was upset and needed to talk to someone to calm down. as long as she's not injured i have faith it'll be okay, i feel bad that she's clearly struggling with something today that's making the game hard for her. but it's not worrying me anymore because this is the only game this season where i've been like "oh she's playing badly". other games she always has shown up and been contributing to the win, people would just freak out because her 3 ball wasn't perfect but it's genuinely not that big of a deal. she's okay, just having a bad day and i wouldn't be surprised if she comes back in the second half. but if she doesn't that's okay too. she'll be fine.
