Is Zip 100% hedgehog? If Zip wasn't, would traits of the other species start to show through later or would it be like Archie where they just look fully like one parent's species?

The way I see cross-species kids between mobians is that they'll generally take the species of one parent, the Archie way, but they might exhibit some behaviors and/or physical attributes from the other parent's species. (A shorthair gray cat and a longhair brown dog might have a longhair brown cat who barks sometimes.)

In Zip's case, he's a hedgehog like Sonic! And it looks like Sonic's fur color ended up winning over the other parent, too! Whether or not Zip has other species behavior or if he's 200% Hedgehog is a good question!! You won't know just by looking at him!

Espurr are notorious for having trouble controlling their psychic powers at first, compared to other Psychic-types, as their powers grow very quickly and very suddenly. They normally have accommodations to help them with this sudden influx of psychic power...but for Celeste, an Espurr who was once human, she was not at all prepared for when her psychic powers kicked in

hi! the MC themselves isn't inspired by a specific character, but more so the things that happen to them. for example, what happens to MC in the prologue is inspired by Vi's and Jinx's childhood. the physiology-changing experiment MC will go through is inspired by that time when Singed saved Jinx's life by injecting her with shimmer (that won't happen to MC haha, just inspiration). MC being able to take the "God" path is inspired by Viktor's arc in s2.

sorry if u already answered this question, but how do you scan your art? like via phone or a printer or smth else? It looks so good!🙏

I usually scan with a flatbed scanner in 400dpi, as I found it gave me the nicest quality without being too large, but 300dpi is also fine.

The secret to getting good scan quality is Know Thy Printer. Every scanner has its unique traits you want to compensate for, be it low contrast, over saturating, or washing out colours. My great art hack is adjusting for this post scan! I found duplicating and multiplying the layer (fading opacity based on need) helped fix a *lot* of issues with the ink scanning ‘washed out’.

#ask #art faqs #cause I have a few more asks like this to answer and expect to have more #I have actually switched scanners a *lot* over the run of this blog #i kinda live a nomadic lifestyle and dont stay in one place permantly so its a necessity to borrow a scanner when I can #i actually have memorized/writen down the exact numbers for adjustments for each scanner i frequent #but after a while you can develop a sense of what settings you need to pull up #i use a cracked copy of Sai; the one I last used needs +12% contrast adjustment and multiply on 75%#stuff like that!#ive also has a scanner than needed 25% colour adjust and 50% multiply #it takes a bit of playing around with to get familiar but wow its made a difference #Id say the multiplied layer adjustment is the most key aspect into getting a clean scan! Higher contrast to sharpen edges!#Lots of free programs can do that too!

Hiya, I wanted to share a kinda weird story and ask a question. Just wanted to say you’re a very talented storyteller and I’ve been thinking of your work a lot. I ended up having a dream about time & time again last night where Steve tries to steal the American flag for a bunch of children. It was a pretty angsty dream but I still found it kinda funny because it seems on brand for Steve lol. Also, for those who can’t afford to buy the books on kickstarter, will there be other options to help fund? If the kickstarter succeeds will you list the books on your website or are they one and done? I hope you’re having a lovely day!

I love how the way you've approached this makes me unable to ignore the first part to be able to answer the second.

To start with the questions though, I'll be making a PDF people can get to help support (that will be included in all tiers)! It should be a fun item for any fan of the series... You'll also be able to get just one book instead of all 4 from season 1. I'm trying to plan some other things, but it's all still very much in development so I'm wary of committing too openly to it!

And I am planning to have the Kickstarter goal fund extra copies for me to put on my site and take to conventions, yes! So if someone can't support when it comes out, if it funds then they can order the books later, or find me at a convention with some copies!

I'm planning to be incredibly up front about the costs and processes by which I came to all my decisions, because I've made quite a few strange choices but I assure you they're all just in service of getting books out as soon as (and as fun as) possible!

And for the first bit, it's incredibly flattering to hear that you think about my work... And to the extent that it's invaded your subconscious! Wow! Dog Training Book Recs?

Nova has shown so much progress that I feel I’m at a point where I can really hone our training and focus on some more solid obedience work. With him being a lot happier and much more stable with his resource guarding managed, I’m really interested in taking the next step into his training. Problem is, we can’t use treats as a reward. Our reward is a lot of play, but it’s not ball/frisbee/toy focused, it’s…fake kicking air, it’s asking him to go around a tree and then fake kicking air. A high five has been used as a low value reward. It’s not the typical use of play and so sometimes my timing is really, really off, or I don’t have the opportunity to reward him as much as i’d like to bc I can’t just let him run as he’d like. And I can’t imagine a book would really help us in that regard, but perhaps would explain some concepts and tricks that could help me adapt to Nova as best as possible to get to where I want?

If anyone has any ideas/recs, I’m all ears!
