its so funny to watch people try to defend manfred von karma with the excuse that “he didn’t make miles testify that he killed his own father”, and yeah, you’re right, he didn’t. however. its explicitly stated in the text that he knew this was going to happen and he ENCOURAGED IT when it actually did happen. he was fully ready and willing to let his student take credit for the murder of the man HE KILLED .. to the point where he literally tazed phoenix and maya (17 year old girl!!!) to stop them from getting any evidence that could prove it was him.

sure, it wasn’t originally part of his plan, but is framing his student for the murder of a stranger really any better?? miles would’ve ended up in prison for life OR DEAD if mvk’s original plan went through and that was mvk’s whole intent.

dead on main first meeting but it's really awkward

"Danny, where have you been?!" Is the first thing Jazz snaps once she answers her phone. She has a right to snap. This isn't Amity, this is Gotham. A place where the villans weren't just ghosts, where her little brother wasn't just a vigilante. He was trafficking bait. He was an accidental drug mule. He was supposed to be back at the hotel three hours ago. She was allowed to be stressed. Although, she can't help but add to that question. "Do you...have a cat?"

"Hey Jazz," Danny's voice is sheepish, almost entirely eclipsed by the rumbling vibrations that seem to be coming from right next to him, if she was to hazard a guess. "Sorry, I uh- got caught up in something?" "In something." Something still sounds like trouble, but it's not coming with the edge of villain, or worse, police, so she exhales. Allows her shoulders to relax.

Crosses her free arm across her chest, because Danny might not be In Trouble, but he is in so much trouble.

"What kind of something?"

"Well... see, here's the thing." She can hear shifting through the receiver, before the purring stops. Almost immediately, Danny lets out a sharp yelp-- and the purring continues, just as sharp and vibrant as before. "I got a little lost, and next thing I know, uh- I think Red Hood thinks I'm some kind of ecto-plushi?"

They both fall into silence, for several moments. The purring does not stop.

"Red Hood."

"Yeah."

"The crime lord vigilante?"

"Yeup."

"Is using you as a teddy? A ghost teddy?"

"Mhm. It's been like... four hours, I think? He calmed down for a while, but calming down doesn't mean letting me go, apparently." Danny huffs, loudly. Ignoring her absent reprimand for making the phone peak. "Nightwing tried to help for maybe five minutes, but I told him to get lost."

"Why?" "I think he was crying?" Danny mumbles something about photos, but right now, that really isn't important.

Her little brother had been kidnapped off the street. By Red Hood. For cuddles.

"...Huh." Okay, sure.

She can't say this is the weirdest thing to happen to them. Sighing, Jazz strides over to her suitcase, digging through her clothes to pull out the Fenton Anti-Creep Stick. "Just send me your location, I'll come get you."

"Thanks Jazz, you're the best."

𝖞𝖔𝖚𝖗 𝖔𝖈 𝖆𝖘…

sav's bullshit edition! teehee hello everyone.. i wanted to make a fun little character template. i tried to use things that i haven't seen before & that would let people play with lore and exploring characterization etc. if you'd like to use the template as well, you can find it here in both psd & png forms, including a textless png if you do not use photoshop or photopea, but want to change the fonts. the only thing i ask is that you do not change what the associations are supposed to be. pls also let me know if you need help using it/if you're having any issues or need it in a different file format depending on the application you use. i am also not including my personal coloring psd with this. anyway time for me to yap! :

𝖆 𝖈𝖆𝖗𝖉𝖎𝖓𝖆𝖑 𝖘𝖎𝖓: though i think more than one could apply to savina, the same as with anyone, i do believe that at the forefront envy is what effects her most. she has always struggled with matters of jealousy—and this envy can often leave to her feeling sad, angry, resentful, and particularly vicious, struggling with violent or cruel intrusive thoughts at times, or causing her to lash out. she may feel disappointment or anger at the success of those she does not like or finds undeserving; and while there is a technical distinction between jealousy & envy, i'm going to just. mash them together for my own whims. similarly, while there's an argument on whether these should be considered separate forms, for this, i'm just gonna riff off it: savina deals regularly with both benign & malicious envy—benign envy may entail the acknowledgment that another is better in one way or another, but your coveting & resentment may serve as motivation for you to strive towards improvement. it is not quite positive, but can, when dealt with in an appropriate way, serve to better someone. malicious envy, however, is as the name implies: something that evolves from pure negativity & the urge to hurt, see or cause the downfall of someone.

𝖆 𝖌𝖗𝖊𝖊𝖐 𝖒𝖚𝖘𝖊: i used the painting melpomene by johann heinrich tischbein for this image. melpomene is the greek muse of tragedy; with her name meaning songstress, she is known to sing songs of mourning for the dead, and for poets in particular. she is often pictured holding a tragedy mask, a dagger & cup, and is sometimes found wearing a crown of ivy—a tidbit i found of interest, as ivy is one of the plants i associate with savina's twin sister, severa. i do believe i would associate severa with the muse thalia, given my understanding—not simply because it is convenient, but i believe the symbolism applies. while this is not a post about severa, i also find it interesting that one of thalia's symbols is a shepherd's staff...

𝖆 𝖘𝖚𝖕𝖊𝖗𝖓𝖆𝖙𝖚𝖗𝖆𝖑 𝖈𝖗𝖊𝖆𝖙𝖚𝖗𝖊: the church grim. while the church grim has a few different sources of folklore, two of those are english & scandinavian in origin, mirroring savina's heritage. often, the church grim adopts the form of a large black dog, and wanders the grounds at night, protecting the sacred space. there are some variations of the lore between origins, but within the scandinavian version of the folklore specifically, the church grim is a revenant guardian of an animal buried alive beneath the church's foundation during its construction. sometimes this animal was a lamb buried beneath the altar—and if that lamb is seen in the cemetery of the church, it is an omen that indicates the death of a child. in english folklore, the grim is also seen as a dark omen, and may toll the church's bell before a death takes place.

𝖆 𝖌𝖊𝖒: i did two for this; i recently mentioned how i found it funny that i gave savina two of my own birthstones as some of her favorite gems/stones.. unintentional, but it gave me a good giggle. anyway, i believe she would admire alexandrite not only because it is gorgeous in color regardless of shade, but for its ability to shift those colors depending on lighting—turning from a green to a purple hue. it is sometimes called the chameleon stone, and i feel that plays in nicely with savina's attempts to make herself blend in. alongside this, some who ascribe to the spiritual or metaphysical properties of alexandrite say that it is a stone of prestige, that it may change colors to warn its wearer of danger, and that some of its healing properties include helping someone find balance, and that it may have connection with the heavens.

where pearls are concerned, i think savina would be greatly intrigued & admirative of the fact that it is created by something living, making them that much more rare and precious. they can be found in both fresh & saltwater, signifying that they can exist in a variety of conditions, and this also relates back to how i associate with savina with the element of water. to some, they may also conjure the image of the moon—something else i associate with her. in ancient egyptian culture, pearls were associated with isis, the goddess of healing, and were regularly placed inside of tombs. in ancient greece, pearls were believed to be tears of aphrodite; and in christianity, some claim that pearls are the tears cried by eve after being banished from eden. they are also most often associated with purity, femininity, love, protection, and resilience. from a metaphysical perspective, pearls may likewise be contributed to grounding, emotional balance, and healing.

obviously savina does not know all of this, and this is just me being insane. not only is she intrigued by the process of the pearl's creation, but she simply finds them beautiful; many of her items also have mother of pearl—the lining inside the mollusk shell wherein pearls are formed. her wand, her brushes and combs, and a few other items i am still designing. she likes that there is more than one use of the mollusk; it is not simply cast aside after the pearl is retrieved, but that even the parts that may seem useless can be utilized.

𝖆 𝖕𝖆𝖎𝖓𝖙𝖎𝖓𝖌: not long ago, i featured the fallen angel by by alexandre cabanel & anguish by august schenck in a moodboard of some things that helped to inspire savina, and so too have i previously reblogged ( my goat ) artemisia gentileschi's judith beheading holofernes in reference to savina, so i did not wish to reuse them. instead i opted for the penitent magdalene by domenico tintoretto; there is a skull in the corner—not able to be seen because of how i've cropped it, but it may serve as symbolism for the need to repent for any sins, as death is an inevitability. a touch of memento mori. her overall expression is one of pleading & contrition. likewise, she is bathed in both the light of heaven and of the moon.
