Amity park was never abandoned. No the heroes knew, John Constantine went in a completely neutralized both portals that led to the afterlife immediately.
Small problem. They didn't account for the young half ghost that had no idea what was happening to him. Since there were no ghosts for him to fight he had no train which led to no discipline. Danny Fenton was a wild card, a kid that could go maniac in an instant. The kid was kiddish.
His parents didn't know what was wrong with him. Since they didn't have any proof ghosts were real that was the furthest from their mind.
They think he is a meta somehow. Danny thinks he is a monster because of his very violent thoughts. The JL don't even know that they created a terrible domino effect.
