Taeyeon quite liked Christmas songs, in all reality, so she thought to prepare for the December performance they were going to be giving was going to be something she enjoyed, but when it came to certain parts of it, she was not as thrilled.
The first song the KT Girls were going to be a part of was a Chi-Chi cover of their song Party. Taeyeon loved Chi-Chi, but that was definitely not one of her favorite of their releases and she honestly found the “Christmas Party” version a bit cheesy, so she wasn’t looking forward to that as much as the rest of it.
Perhaps it was the part of her that was a little older and could remember her mom playing some idol music, but covering S.E.S., Taeyeon absolutely loved that. The song brought with it a certain nostalgia with it, plus she remembered seeing groups cover it on year-end shows in the past, so it made her think that it had that type of feeling to it.
Santa’s Coming for Us was a song she had never heard before they had started practicing it and she honestly didn’t really care for it either. She could see why some people would, it just wasn’t her style at all.
The medley itself was going to be fun though, she thought, as it was giving them a chance to sing some actual traditional holiday songs, which brought that feeling of warmth to her that she always felt that time of year. The songs all too often had a slight sadness to them, but she kind of liked that in songs, so she didn’t mind that too much.
Getting familiar with all of the different songs she’d be involved in, as usual, was a fun process, even though she might not be a huge fan of all of them. She was looking forward to the actual performance which she knew was going to sneak up on them quickly.

In hindsight, perhaps she should have expected this to happen. The amity held by some in the Reich toward the Japanese was too deep for something to not be at least attempted. But, somehow, Katherine thought that, for once, everything would be fine. Mika had security. She was the niece of the Emperor, for crying out loud. She would be fine.
It was a nice party, she had to admit, celebrating the defeat of Heusmann and his associates. Too many Nazis for her taste but that was just part of the package. Mika dragged her along, saying she needed to get out more. However, considering how Mika would come over to her at certain points, she was also an escape route from awkward conversations for the Princess. Katherine certainly didn’t mind fulfilling that role either.
It happened so fast. Mika felt dizzy but decided to just sit, laughing it off as a little too much champagne. It seemed like only a few minutes later she collapsed on the floor having a seizure. The party descended into chaos as her guard surrounded her and others called for help. Knowing her, the guard let Katherine through. No one touched Mika but Katherine knelt quickly and pulled Mika into her arms, making sure her friend didn’t hurt herself. “ Shh..., “ she soothed, trying to do anything she could think of to help Mika but the seizing quickly slowed, her skin turning from flushed to dark. Within minutes, before the ambulance could even get there, Mika breathed her last in her arms as she begged her not to go.
Katherine sat in shock watching them wheel her friend’s body away, her mind working to keep away the grief. She was poisoned, that was clear, and in such a dramatic way too. Payback. Finally, she allowed herself to give into her grief, sobs shaking her frame as she stared at the broken champagne glass on the floor. Not another one... She couldn’t lose anyone else and yet, she just did.
A birthday message for Tiger JK? Taeyeon obviously thought that it was a nice idea, everyone loves getting little reminders that people care on their birthday, and she assumed the CEO was no different. The long-haired man had been a staple in the entertainment industry for years, and from everything she had seen of him, was a devoted family man and seemed like a genuinely nice person, which was not exactly easy to say about everyone in the business. Slip of paper in hand, Taeyeon stuck the tip of her pen in her mouth, trying to think what it was that she could write. She wasn’t great with her own words, as exemplified by the debacle that was lyrics writing at the last summer camp the companies put on. She knew it was kind of lame, but she it was really the only thing she could think of...a joke from when she was a kid.
A policeman in the big city stops a man in a car with a tiger in the front seat. "What are you doing with that tiger?" He exclaimed, "You should take it to the zoo." The following week, the same policeman sees the same man with the tiger again in the front seat, with both of them wearing sunglasses. The policeman pulls him over. "I thought you were going to take that tiger to the zoo!" The man replied, "I did. We had such a good time we are going to the beach this weekend!" = (You and Bizzy!!!)
Etiquette class was something that Taeyeon hadn’t really thought about having to go through before, as she just assumed most things about it would be pretty self-explanatory. Once she was in it, however, she realized that that was not necessarily the case.
“You need to smile more.” the instructor pointed out, looking at her directly. She raised her eyebrows in surprise, she thought she smiled enough, in fact, she thought she probably smiled too often. The instructor seemed to notice her confusion and laughed softly. “It needs to be bigger, that’s all. When I say more, I don’t mean more often, though that isn’t a bad idea, I mean, bigger. Commercials are about selling yourself along with the product. If you don’t make your smile a bit bigger or brighter than what you would normally do, it will end up not looking as good to the director. We need to believe you’re really enjoying the product.” she offered as advice, motioning for Taeyeon to attempt the smile again. It seemed strange for the singer, but it made sense, it always seemed like people on commercials were having way more fun than they should be. She exaggerated her smile a bit and just got a simple “Better!” from the coach. She wasn’t exactly sure she agreed, she’d rather give a real smile than a fake one, but she of course, was not making these decisions.
Even though she did fine, it of course made her worry about the upcoming evaluations. Taeyeon could smile brighter all she wanted, but it couldn’t stop her normal worrying nature from coming through.
