“Ms. Harris, would you mind telling me about your associate?” Steve looked at the reporter, he shouldn’t even be talking to a reporter, but she was the closest they could get to their suspect. “This is of importance and I hate to say it, but you’re the closest we’ve got.”

She wasn’t sure why Hawaii Five 0 would want to know anything about her colleague, who she didn’t even know that well, only that his work was more than good.  Frowning deeply, her brow furrowed.  “I don’t know where he’s at if that’s what you’re asking.  Probably off doing his job...”  It’d been interesting to learn they were on the island at the same time, doing different things.  “I can give you his cell number if that helps?”

He returned her smile with one of his own. “I’m ready to go home,” he admitted. “You know what I really miss, besides my family? Peanut butter. I wish we got peanut butter here. I would die for a peanut butter sandwich on real bread that’s not made from sawdust.” He sighed. “But no matter. Can I get you anything?”

“Aren’t we all?”  She certainly was, for more than one reason.  At his words, she grinned at first before it turned into laughter.  Not the mocking kind, but just pure amusement.  “Oh, I doubt I miss it as much as you do, but I wouldn’t mind having some of either.  Or both.  Both are good.”  With a chuckle, she shook her head.  “Not unless you have a sketchbook hidden somewhere.  I’ve finally filled mine.”

Hey… since I’m coming up on having a lot of posts and I have more than a few small changes I want to make to Kat, I’m probably going to work toward archiving this blog plus moving all my sideblogs (and a main and it’s sideblog) to a multi, over the next few days, I’ll probably be slow to nonexistent on here.  I also need to pair down the amount of threads I have which I’ll do when I move.  Also, @luxche @soldierboynamedern and @unelectcd come and talk to me about what I owe you!

It was a rare occasion that Rob got actually full on drunk. He avoided it usually and slowly nursed one drink while everyone else went through more but this evening he’d had a great time and somehow his glass had always been topped up so it got difficult to keep track of how much he’d had. 

“Silly with love for you,” he mumbled his lame and cheesy response as he continued to kiss along her neck. Smiling he shifted even closer to her and dragged his lips up to her ear. “The most beautiful wife I’ve ever had. The loveliest, sweetest, prettiest,” he punctuated each word with a badly aimed kiss to her jawline, “sexiest little woman I’ve ever seen…”  

Oh... he was so drunk, she laughed to herself, running a hand through his hair with the smallest of grins.  And still trying to be the smoothest talker around despite it, though he was being very amusing.  Now, she wanted to know who he’d been spending the evening with because she needed to know and also give them a piece of her mind.

Unable to suppress her laughter any longer, she dissolved into giggles as he tried to kiss her.  Ducking it finally to lay her head on his shoulder, she couldn’t help but laugh more.  “I’m the only wife you’ve ever had, you...  You are so sloshed...”  Oh, she couldn’t object to the other things he’d said, smiling widely, cheeks flushing, in response.  Even if he was drunk, hearing that was more than gratifying.

Brows quirk as the goddess gazes down at the woman who’s tears glisten in the dim light as they roll down her cheeks. She hadn’t seen such empathy in anyone she had encountered in the SS building. At first they stared at her with a look of longing in their eye, like they had captured the means to end the world and had plans to use her. As she refused to aid them that look turned to one of hatred. They saw a weapon not a woman. A means to destroy their enemy who they had sworn to be allies with  

Lips part as words of not hatred but love fill her ears. She hadn’t lost hope even in such a dark time as this but the woman’s words proved that not everyone in this country was full of hatred. She knew some rebelled yet there intentions seem skewed. Neither side was better then the other and innocent people still got hurt. That was why she was here. She stood to protect those who could’t protect themselves and she would continue to do so until love won. Diana’s lips turn up into a smile as blood no longer stained rose colored lips. “Then I am wrong. Perhaps you won’t grow old in a world with out love.” She could feel her strength returning to her bones, feel the energy that connected her to the gods flow through her limbs as wounds began to heal. Soon she’d be able to escape.

“What is your name?” Diana speaks wishing to learn about the woman who still seemed hopeful of the world she lived in changing. 

    No, of course, the woman would not stop talking...  But then again, perhaps that would be the answer they would expect the other to give to her statement.  Each side would assume they knew it was meant for them.  This Diana was correct, however... the words were for her ears.  As long as people fought freedom and loved purely, without hating anyone unduly, then in some small way, good did triumph.  The evil hadn’t destroyed all the good and hopefully, never would.  At the other’s reply, her chin dropped, a soft sigh escaping her before she could stop it.  No, perhaps she wouldn’t.  Katherine knew what the woman meant and yet it reminded her that she may not grow old at all, not if either side found out what she did.  The irony...  She was a double agent but yet not, working for both sides in a way while not allowing them to mix.  If anything, this would be her destruction, even more likely than her cell being found out.  But what was she to do?  Leave one or the other?  Both would endanger her even more or cause her to lose something she could not bear to let go...

    Eyes rising once more as the woman asked her name, she cannot help how she tilts her head, a little surprised she wished to know it.  “Katherine.  Katherine Harris.”  It was quiet but she felt happy to give it for once.  At least let the woman know that before she was told to leave and let them get on with their horrible work.

She supposes she could only dodge her father’s friends for so long. Evelyn was bound to be tossed from the kitchen and out into the social atmosphere that had become her beloved and tranquil backyard. “Evelyn, darling go out to the party! The dishes will be taken care of. After all it is your birthday.” Cheeks redden as one of her neighbors gently takes her arm and escorts her outside. Washing the dishes had been her excuse not to join in on the festivities and her father was too busy discussing work to notice her absence. Hands smooth over her pale yellow dress as she moves out onto the back lawn. Green hues search for a few friendly faces who she felt comfortable with. Eyes land on the once construction worker turned spy, Joe Blake. His blue hues meet her gaze and she quickly looks away as her cheeks turn rosy once more.

Evelyn moves through the guests and stops every so often as someone wishes her a happy birthday. She breaths a sigh of relief as she finally finds Kat standing amongst the crowd. “Thank goodness you’ve came!” Evelyn’s arm wraps around the other woman’s as she stands beside her. “There are far too many people here for my liking. Really I would have been happy with dinner in followed by some tv. This was father’s idea. Quite literally a surprise.”  quietresistence // closed starter 

    She honestly didn’t know what to do with herself as she walked up to her friend’s home.  It was a visit too foreign to know how to handle, surrounded by the types that would hardly give her another look as she worked away at a desk in a building downtown.  Let alone... she’d never seen Smith outside of work and with both her knowledge of the closeness of their families as well as the proximity of their homes to one another, there was little doubt in her mind that she would see him at some point.  Then, there was that it was a birthday party...  She couldn’t remember the last time she’d been to one of a person close to her own age.  Certainly her own with her uncle and to those of his friends when they held them, but the only things she lacked living with him were friends close to her age, not that it ever bothered her much.

    Nervously fidgeting with the skirt of her black silk and lace dress, her smile finally appeared as she too spotted Evelyn, the birthday girl.  Leaning to the side to give her arm a squeeze in lieu of the hug she wished to give her, Katherine practically beamed.  “Of course I came.  I couldn’t let you celebrate today without me,” she teased, huffing a laugh at her friend’s explnation.  “Fathers will be fathers,” she added softly, not allowing herself to be sad.  “Well, Happy Birthday, Evelyn.  You’ve made it another year in this insane world.”

Numbed through pain

You seem to shut down in situations that would arouse anger. It seems you go into a state of minor shock and your mind struggles to deal with the current situation. You are the kind of person bullies would get bored of. You’re like a concrete stone on the outside, but on the inside… You are hurting more than they think.
