TLDR OG Aphrodite (like just before the Titanomachy) gave Zeus a love blessing (?) but it backfired and now the more (emotionally) intimate the relationship, the more likely it is for Zeus's partner to be driven mad by love.

You don't have to abide by this hc necessarily if you don't want to, though I will say that this doesn't force people to fall in love with Zeus or anything like that. It just magnifies what already exists.

You know what? I'll say it: it's a little silly to expect Odysseus to be celibate for the 20 years it takes him to get home. That's a really really long time. I don't think it should be held against him.
